I had an iridology reading done about 10 years ago, (which I don't remember many details of) and again just last Thursday. I find it fascinating (and a bit scary) that every condition your body is dealing with is reflected in your eyes. I have some conditions to work on, which I knew in advance, and some new ones that showed up... as well as the scary one: environmental toxicity. It showed up as a orange cast to my brown eyes (which if I were in total helath balance would really be green or hazel). I did spent the first year of my life in Kennewick, WA, which is in the immediate vicinity of the Hanford Nucular site, and growing up on farms when using DDT was still an acceptable practice. So,... time for some major cleansing and detoxing. The good news is that the iridolgist said she had had the same condition and after several years of work, she has reduced it significantly.

Has anyone else used iridology as a tool for health? I'd be interested in knowing about your experiences. When we share our experiences, we not only inform - but spread the "love".

Also, My husband had the blackest eyes going...now they are a light, greenish hazel. They turned dramatically in color the last 15 years...

I had a "reading" done 2 years ago through a lady associated with a health food store because of toxic concerns we lived nearby. I used to have blue-green eyes but now they have yellow specks around the pupil and tend to be a yellow/hazel color. She said I had serious liver/kidney toxicity and asked about environmental factors in my entire life... In childhood, prevailing SW winds brought fallout from nuclear testing done in the desert southwest in the early 60's over Kansas...sometimes the pastures would "glow" at night! DDT was used abundantly as a mosquito insecticide and children, myself included, would ride our bikes behind the fogging trucks in our neighborhoods. I have lived in a very heavy agricultural area for 20 years with pesticide and herbicide, chemical and sewage sludge fertilizer use...It has affected our blood liver enzymes...Very, very scary...Read Silent Spring by Rachael Carson written in 1962 and it spells this out...

Good point Eileen, I hadn't associated my moisturizer thing with toxins yet. How to live a chemical free life??? It's hard in this age, isn't it? We are sunny and warm here too. My yard is bone dry and our irrigation water doesn't arrive for another month.
Check with your local health food store to see if they know of an iridolgy person in your area. I'm sure there must be. You might be amazed at what you discover!

Clare,
I think we would all be surprised at the level of toxicity in our bodies. We are bombarded every where we go. Everything we buy to wear has chemical washes in the fabric. Our food supply is full of it. The air we breathe is also a continuous source. Even our daily bath brings in toxic things. We are lucky to some extent if we live where we have our own water wells because we do not have to deal with the clorine problems of city water but as you discovered about your moisturiser the other day, most of our skin care products that are widely available and affordable contain one or more of the dangerous list and we put them on our skin, the largest and most absorbant organ or our human bodies. I feel like a once a month or more often de toxing day will be necessary to keep up.
Farm chemicles is a big one for those of us living near any big farming operations where organic is a bad word.
Wish I could purify all of the air coming onto my property!
Oh well that is another topic.
Have a happy day Clare, this is a very sunny and warm day here. I may have to begin to water my plants today if we don't get some precipitation.

Hi Eileen,
There is an iridologest who lives in Idaho who travels to a circut of health food stores in our area every 4 months or so. She uses a focus adjustable digital camera and a pin light to photogragh the eyes. After evaluation and recording what she sees to paper, she then gives you the disk and notes to take home. She's been trained in iridology.

As far as toxins within the home, I realize there is that potential; however, I haven't purchased anything new for my home for quite some time (years and years), so I would imagine that threat would be minimal in my case. But it does bring up the topic of a good air purification system being of value. I think in my case my exposure to farm chemicals is most likely the greatest source of buildup in my body. Hindsight. Now on to doing the therapies that will remedy the conditions!!!

So Clare,
Where do you go for an iridology reading?
Environmental toxicity is most prevalent now in this age of super insulated and air tight homes and buildings. A huge % of invironmental toxicity occures in people who live in manufactured homes but any house built in the last 20 years will off gas toxicins. A new carpet will bring in a large quantity of things like benzene. New linoleum will bring in even worse toxins. Even new furniture will bring in a huge amount of toxins in things like the fire retardants required by law and the petroleum based fabrics used in the coverings.
The foam cushions are another source. Our hanford downwind life is not responsible for a lot of the new toxicity of our bodies.
Having been involved in the indoor air purification business I got a lot of information input into my brain I did not like but it forced me to re think all of my choices.
