Has anyone else seen this documentary? I watched it on Netflix streaming yesterday as I folded laundry and I was amazed to see the changes in the man as he went through a 60 day juice fast with the guidance of his doctor. He went from being massively overweight and on a laundry list of medications to being trim, muscular and off all of his medications!

He also met a truck driver who had the same auto immune disorder that he had, and gave him his contact information. The trucker called him a while later in a crisis and asked for help. The trucker was over 400 pounds and he went on a juice fast as well and now while he still has some extra weight, he has lost about half of what he once had!

It was amazing to see the transformations. I don't think I will be doing a juice fast, but Nora watched it with me and asked if we could make the juice. We do have a juicer so I am looking forward to juicing with my daughter tonight! :)

Our cupboards are pretty bare because I haven't shopped for a month for groceries, so we will be shopping tonight and it will be fun to try some of the juice recipes that this man followed on his journey.

Anyone else do juicing?

What they say on his website is that juicing and blending are different because blending leaves the cellulose fiber in the juice which makes it slower for the body to digest and utilize when compared to just the juice diet. However I thing that both are beneficial. I am seriously considering trying a juice diet/fast.

I requested the movie from blockbuster online. I'm curious.

We have a Vitamix, so all our fruits & veggies get pureed in smoothies. I pack mine full of spinach. Yummy!

I won the book The Juice Lady's Turbo Diet. (lose 10 pounds in 10 days - the healthy way.) Haven't really opened it, since I won't be juicing. I'll have to compare the book to the movie.

I did some straight carrot juice for breakfast and we all had some apple juice with our dinner. There is a program to follow to get started on a juicing diet but right now I am just trying to get the idea down and get in the habit of turning the juicer on. Once I have that habit down I think I might try a juice fast. We'll see. Maybe I SHOULD do one now. I have a wedding to get ready for in a month. That would give me enough time to start on a juice fast and hopefully detox a bit before hand. Maybe I will start a juice fast next week! I am liking this idea more and more.

Instead of Kale I can use Swiss Chard which is growing like crazy in my garden. The only thing that will be hard is the celery because I have not been able to harvest mine yet. It is still pretty small. But wow! Can you imagine garden grown celery? I bet it will be fantastic!!

I bought a juicer, but I will admit...I am terrible about using it. I wish I did more. There are so many recipes out there it is hard to know what is good and then I just give up. Maybe you will give me some much needed inspiration to get on it Alee!

No but I have been thinking about it. I am overweight and need to do something about it.
