Posted - Jul 11 2006 : 9:01:26 PM After all these years of never getting poison ivy, despite camping, backpacking, Girl Scout camp both as a kid and a leader, Boy Scout camp, etc., etc, I have a small patch on my leg. It's not terribly itchy, thank goodness, but now I have to be a bit more careful of where I go when I'm helping my dh clearing around here.
Anyone else here never get poison ivy until later in life? I've heard this isn't unusual.

Posted - Jul 12 2006 : 06:30:01 AM Patti, I am 29, and to my knowledge, I have never had it. I am terribly allergic to so many things, I don't know how I have managed to dodge this, but I am not complaining. I think that some people are not allergic, and they can roll in it and never get any. My granny has it right now, and it just isn't getting any better, it just keeps spreading. She has had it well over a week. When she was over here the other night, helping me birth poodle puppies, I mixed her up some essential oils to try. I am going to check with her and see if they helped.
