Posted - Jun 06 2011 : 7:45:45 PM I read it and for me it made a lot of sense. I am type B and it mentioned to limit grains and lo and behold I don't like to eat a lot of bread. It makes me feel sick. I prefer veggies, meat, fruit whole foods, not grains. I found it to be quite interesting that my natural tendencies seemed to go along with what he said for my blood type. The book that worked absolute wonders for me is called "Flat Belly Diet". I followed their first 4 days to the letter, then I followed their basic rules because I couldn't afford (in the middle of winter) to follow their recommended plan for the rest of the first month. I know everyone loses weight differently but I stuck with my limited grains, followed the rule to have a "mufa" with every meal/snack and followed the calorie recommendation for what weight I wanted to be (my pre-baby weight).
I started in January and I have lost 30 pounds and only had 10 more pounds to go but I'm 18 weeks pregnant so obviously my weight loss has stopped but I'm still eating healthy, and I haven't gained any weight yet from the pregnancy. (No, I'm not dieting while pregnant either, I'm just eating the right way and when I crave sweets I skip the gummies and go for grapes!)
I read a few other books but they seemed to mess my body up more than anything, the only thing that worked for me was that book. I really believe once you find something that works for you it will work, plain and simple. Since it was in the middle of winter that I started I couldn't go running or walking so I didn't exercise it off. My body burned it off once I started eating for my body. I am an (ok, I was but I'm not anymore!) emotional eater and now I realize that its like wow, instead of having food guilt everytime I eat, I enjoy the food, enjoy the tastes, smells, aroma's, everything about it and I savor every bite. Instead of feeling like I can't eat dessert, yes, I eat dessert but not every day and not more than a serving size (according the book, NOT what the store or I serve myself) Now when I get upset I don't turn to food, that book helped me recognize that problem so instead of hiding the issue with eating food I can deal with it and take care of it right away.
Hope you can find something that works for you, I know once you find what works you will want to share it with everyone :) Best of luck!

Posted - Jun 03 2011 : 05:48:13 AM It makes sense to a point. then when you go thru his other books, it contradicts itself. but i think it still bears reading and thinking and trying some of it. was just wondering how others felt about it. with summer and gardens it seems it would be easier to eat 'right' per his book since we are all meat or veggie eaters by his diagnosis. but then we seem to be too busy to do it like he says~so it is a hit and miss. and yes, the genotype /warrior, hunter, gatherer, etc. is still more of a stretch. our daughter really puts it all together well and since both our families are similar, i can catapult off her info! Seems so many are tired and drained before the day ends, so peopel are looking for help for better health~maybe it will work for some! But for now, my mind keeps wondering back to my electric netting fence to be able to rotate my pastures for our horse and goats~and the answer to why do our chicks die after they are hatched out in our incubator......and was it really a good idea to try square foot gardening this year !? And then, what about all the rain that has exploded the grass! while our mower was down for over 2 weeks...oh, yeah, that's where the elctric netting fence comes in~fence them critters in to the square and let them munch away! Wow! Answers already being answered. is this like talking to yourslef!? And then the big one~what about trying to grow organic when you have farmers fields all around you with their spray infiltrating our garden...I am going in to different forum discussions here so will exit here and go there !

Posted - May 22 2011 : 12:34:14 PM I've got all of his books, I like reading them. We are all type O in my house, so that part is easy--until you get into the genotypes, lol. While I have not and will not ever give up some of the foods on his list I have taken some of his advice and made some changes to how I eat. Have I lost weight-no, do I have more energy-no, my husband still has flare ups of pancreatitis, etc. But I am eating better. I do find that some of what he says applies to me personally but not all, so I take what seems to fit for me and use that. I've read alot saying that his program doesn't work, I wouldn't say it has worked for me but at the same time I have not bothered to go all out with it either. The book he has with the recipes in it is my favorite, some of the recipes are really good. And no I don't just stick with the ones for type O. I've also used his supplements which I did notice some (nothing drastic though) improvement with my energy but I feel that his supplements are a bit overpriced, and while I really like the teas that he has, I think it's too overpriced as well.

Posted - May 22 2011 : 05:04:27 AM We tried it a few years ago - did not work. Then I read an article saying that there was not really any scientific basis for any of it - it was a lot of owrk simnce we have a variety of blood types here.
