Posted - Apr 28 2011 : 08:39:58 AM I was diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago, but had be trying to get the diagnosis since 2000. I went wheat free and did well until I started menopause. The hormonal change caused intersitial cystitis symptoms, precancerous ovaries and uterus, and tons of bowel issues. Anyone else have an experience like this? I think my bowels problems were caused by a colonoscopy. I am hoping by the time I need another I will be a virtual colonoscopy. Would like someone to share stories and experiences with. I have been sick since 2009 and getting really tired of it. Always telling my story, hoping someone else had gone through something similar. |

Posted - Apr 29 2011 : 1:15:30 PM Hi Kem, I started on the wheat free diet from the book "Eat Right For Your blood type" check it out at the library. It really helps with all your allergies to foods. Also, there is a test you can get done through Neuro Science Labs and insurance will pay for it. They test every food on you through a bood test and it comes back with your groups of food allergies. My doctor had it done and she highly recommends it. I have Lyme and it caused the Celiac to come on me along with a ton of food allergies and enviromental ones too. If you can find a good homeopathic doctor that uses a machine called computron nerve testing, it is painless and will tell you what you are allergic to at any given time. Right now I am off haddock, cod and orange roughy. My big indicator for food allergies is my face. Also, when I am eating I eat one food at a time and if I feel odd while eating it like a rush feeling or in my chest I know something is up and I have my doctor test for that group. My face gets red and dry like I am dehydrated. I always thought I just had dry skin but come to find out it was my bodies way of saying stop eathing that!!!!! When I get off the food my face clears up in about a week. I have all kinds of issues with hormones. I'm on a homeopathic remedy now for the mammory glands. My thyroid is hyper and that causes problems of all kinds. You should get your thyroid checked all three levels. That can be effecting your hormones as well. It's fun growing old.lol

Posted - Apr 29 2011 : 07:25:07 AM Kem, I can't say I have exactly your symptoms, but I did discover gluten intolerance a year ago and have dealt with that. There are several ladies on the board with celiac and there area lot of celiac websites. Hang in there and I hope you work through it all.
