I am in midst of writing my Family Herbal and while looking up a few things about Blackberry, read the actual plant/leaves can be used to dye hair Black. VERY excited to try it.

I am looking to find an actual recipe for dying the hair black with this. I even have a friend whom has grey & black hair that has volunteered to allow my experimentation.

ANYONE have a recipe they could share? OR know how to do it?
I am hoping to include a few Hair beauty recipes like Natural hair dye in the Family Herbal I am writing for them.
Thank you ahead for your help. :)

lol, in everything I have read it is the leaves boiled & mixed with lye or other ingredient to get the black. I can not find an actual recipe, just mentions of ingredients.
The friend wears a hat all the time so the plan is to do a section from under the hat for the initial experiment.
I plan to take before & after pictures for including with the recipe in my book.

Hmm... sounds Interesting.

Let us know how it goes, usually blackberries stain quite well on the hands and cloths but the stain is a blackish, reddish, purple color.... do a test strand first maybe ... now me I would just feel more unique with that kind of color but someone else might get upset .... :
