Posted - Oct 30 2010 : 6:48:21 PM Any other farmgirls out there do yoga? I started a few years ago, and I love it! It tones my muscles, helps me stretch and get more flexible, and is so relaxing. My only problem is that I go to class once a week, but I would like to do more yoga at home also.
Does anyone know of any good dvds for an at-home practice that they would recommend?
Thanks!

Posted - Nov 13 2010 : 06:10:41 AM One of the things I've noticed is that yoga DVD's can be LONG! With two kids, an hour or even 45 minutes is sometimes too long. If you'd like some shorter workouts (therefore easier to start out with), here are my suggestions: Prevention's Better Belly Yoga (3 ten-minute routines you can do separately or together) YogaZone Fat Burning Yoga (2 twenty-minute routines) YogaSculpt (20-25 minutes of pilates or yoga, your choice) Warrior Yoga (30 minute or 60 minute option if you have time) Good luck! A good instructor will remind everyone to modify as they need to do so, suggesting modifications as they go. And most people are far too concerned about themselves too much to pay attention to anyone but the instructor and themselves.

Posted - Oct 31 2010 : 09:50:11 AM I have a Wii Fit Plus with the balance board. It has a number of yoga moves (plus strength training, balance, and more). I LOVE it!
I realize it's kind of pricey if you don't already ahve a Wii system but if you do, it's GREAT!

Posted - Oct 31 2010 : 07:01:45 AM I would love to start yoga. I think I will look for a DVD also that I can do at home. It would be too embarrassing to go to a class right now. I'd like to be a little bit good at it first.

Posted - Oct 30 2010 : 9:02:51 PM I've got an older one from Gaiam, "Yoga for weight loss". It takes about 40 minutes. We try to use it a couple of times a week. I'm not sure if its still available though. When I was going through chemo I got another Gaiam one from a friend, I believe it was called "AM Yoga". It was about 15 minutes and I used it daily. It was a part of set with PM, but once a day was all I could handle/needed. Susan

Posted - Oct 30 2010 : 8:50:16 PM I love yoga!! I've slipped up since I had DS but I'm slowly getting myself back into it. Gaiam makes some wonderful videos and you can get them at target. If you have netflix, I think they also have some yoga videos you can try out.
