1 1/2 t active drt yeast
1 c water-warmed to 110 f
2 3/4 c of flour
1 T unsalted soft butter
1 tsugar
1 t salt
1/4 c cornmeal
oil or solid veg. shortning as needed
disolve yeast, let it proof. Add flour,butter,sugar & salt to yeast mixture & mix until well blended then knead until smooth. shape & place into greased bowl about 2 hrs. or doubled in size.Turn out and divide into 12 equal peices. Shape into rounds, place on cookie sheets w/ heavily dusted cornmeal, turn over & coat other side.Cover & let rise slightly, about 30 min. Preheat a griddle over medium heat, brush lightly w/ oil or shortening. cook until lightly browned on bottom about 5 min. turn over & brown other side. I will try this today.
