Apparently I'm having an allergic reaction to something I'm eating but I just can't figure out what it is. I've been off dairy since Sunday and I'm still breaking out...it seems my break outs start in the evening. My next step is taking out wheat because that's the only one on the list of the top food allergies that I've eaten in the last week. I really don't want to have to go to the doctor about this but it's been going on long enough that I thing I may have to. Gotta love our bodies sometimes...

Any tips on remedies for the itching? Right now it's my face and the insides of my wrists...good times!

I am beginning to wonder if mine could be stress even though I don't really feel all that stressed out right now. I had another bad case this past Friday and can't really pinpoint any particular food as the source so I think I'm going to start writing down everything I eat, what time I eat it, what time a reaction starts and what kind of reaction it is to see if that could point to anything. Some times I have little outbreaks that seem to come from something rubbing on my skin, like when I carry my backpack and it rubs driectly on my skin but it's just irritating for about half an hour and it's gone.

I'm glad to hear that some of you ladies have had to deal with this very random issue and to hear what has worked for you. Benedryl seems to help but I hate to take that when I get outbreaks during the day because it knocks me out so I'll have to try some of the others you all have suggested. Thank you, ladies!

I remember the week after my dad passed away, my mom broke out all over in hives. Stress must play a big part!

Had idiopathic hives. I would get like raised welts. It was horrible. Did two kind of allery pills. Came from stress.

I know I developed an allergy to seafood a few years ago. Hives everywhere. Took weeks for the worst ones to go away. So no more seafood for me. Also nuts and eggs are known to cause hives.

I had the same problem for a long time. If I got very stressed out or my clothes were too tight, I would break out in hives.Eventually though, it didn't matter how my clothes fit. I'd get them everywhere. I found that calamine lotion and an oatmeal bath would cure the itch momentarily, but I really didn't get the hives to go away until I would go to bed at night and wake up in the morning. I had time to de-stress by sleeping and that would take them away.
It got so bad I had to go to a dermatologist that diagnosed me with acute Uticaria. There is no real reason for it. Just the one my skin is made up. He said to keep with the calamine and oatmeal baths and to try and stay relaxed. When the hives seem like they are coming on,I'm to take OTC Claritin which is an antihistamine. :)That seemed to be the most helpful. I was glad I broke down and finally went to the doctors about it. It was HUGE help!
Sorry you have to go through this. I know it's the pits, but hang in there. You aren't alone!!

I was plagued with idiopathic hives for almost 2 years one time. Mine were the worst if I wore any tight clothing or would get warm. Sleeping was the worst. They never figured out what caused it, but I think it was stress. I was working alot and was constantly busy. After having problem after problem and suffering burnout I quit 2 of my 3 jobs and the hives were gone 2 weeks later. I was on Allegra 2 times a day as well as Zantac (Ranitadine) and Benedryl. That was the only thing that helped otherwise I was a giant hive. I'm not sure if you are looking for natural stuff or not, but the Allegra was a godsend! Don't let them put you on Prednisone. That's what I had to be on the first time I dealt with hives (when my brother left home and got married, stress must be my trigger) and Allegra wasn't on the market yet. Pred is just nasty stuff. You may have to do some allergy testing.
