My 21 year old niece has an itchy rash on her back that resembles poison. Now she has a different "dotted" rash under her arms. The dermatologist wasn't able to identify it - do he gave her a steroid injection and a prescription antihistamine. Any ideas what she might have? Any home remedies? She is very uncomfortable.

My 16y/o daughter gets body rashes, esspecially on her hind end, if she eats bananas. I made up a mixture of 2/3 aloe and 1/3 shea butter lotion with no perfumes. It works wonders for her and also for any skin irritations. It will stop a mosquito bite cold after about 5-10 minutes and the itchin never returns. My whole family uses it for everything, even for after shavin to prevent razor burn. It works well on burns too, if they aren't real bad.

I would try a comfrey/calendula based salve. You can get it at the health food store if you don't have any handy. THe other thing I would check into is a food allergy. If the doctor doesn't know what it is... that would be my first place to look. My daughter gets eczema really bad if she has ANY drop of dairy in her diet.

Do what you love, love what you do.
