What is your best remedy? Help I was stung on my inner thigh and it is killing me. Swollen itchy red and warm to the touch. Ice is my friend but does nothing for the itch.

I read somewhere to lay a copper penny on it after you get stung. vinegar is good. plain ol' mustard is good too.

Make my words soft and tender, for I may have to eat them. :)

Diana, how's the bee sting? These are all good to do for stings if you can't find plantain leaves. They are an anelgesic and full of good medicinal properties. They also make a great astringent.

Oh yeah! That's right, Suzie! My dad used to do that! That's a great one! :)

This may sound odd, but an old family friend taught me this when I was about 12 yrs. old, out riding in the wheatfields with him. Scoop up a little dirt into your hand, and spit in it, mix it up and pat on the bee sting. I hadn't been stung in years until the other day and that was my first reaction, and it worked. Toothpast sounds a little cleaner though!

Diana - just for future, my husband got stung on the back coming into the house from the garage a few weeks ago. All I had was toothpaste, so I slathered it on. He said it was amazing - like instant pain relief. Also - an older friend swears by applying ammonia with a cotton swab, but I've never tried that. I hope you're feeling better! I have only been stung once and it was misery! Take care - Nini

Diana, go outside and get some plantain leaves and chew them up and put it on the sting. It will be better in minutes. Plantain grows all over most yards. I'm sure you have it in yours. I hope you can find some quick. It grows low to the ground in swirls with long ovla leaves. It might have a spike in the middle right now that grows straight up. That's the seeds.
