Anyone know of a natural way to keep them from biting you? I live in the south and have animals in the yard with me. We just cann't go outside in the evenings due to the mosquitos. Barbara

I have a friend that makes this awesome soap, stick and spray just for keeping the bugs off! It works really great! Here is her website: http://www.greatcakessoapworks.com/
It is called Bye Bye Bugs!

It doesn't smell nasty either!

I have had good luck with orange oil (thank you Teresa for answering my post a while ago). I put in on my horse, around the bunnies hutch and on my wrists and in my hair like perfume. It's also been helping keep flies away from the horse too.
Let us know how the vodka potion works! It sounds like it would do the trick.

That looks like a great recipe Channah! What's the measurement for the apple cider vinegar, you left it out?!! Is it a half cup?

My mother in law used to swear by dryer sheets hanging from her shoulders and belt loops to keep mosquitoes away!! Her kids would make fun of her, but she insisted it worked! It would be great to try for people who use dryer sheets, but I don't, so will have to try other things.

Hi Barbara! try this and see if it helps. I have never tried it before but have heard that it works.:)
Hugs,
Channah

Place 1/2 organic apple vinegar into a large mixing bowl.

Step 2Mix into the organic apple vinegar 1/2 cup of vodka.
Place 2 tablespoons of citronella oil into the above stated mixture.

Mix thoroughly.

Using a funnel transfer contents of mixing bowl into a small spray bottle.

Apply liberally for best effect.
