Posted - Apr 11 2010 : 4:13:31 PM I was wondering if any farmgirls suffer from restless leg syndrome. I do. I have been on Mirapex for some time which is prescribed by my neurologist. I was beginning to have problems again, so my primary care doctor prescribed Metanx. It is a nutritional prescription of folic acid and B6 or 12. You can't get this form in any OTC vitamins. It has worked wonders. I haven't tried it without the Mirapex, though. I have tried magnesium, calcium, etc supplements, but they just didn't work that well. I can't drink a lot of cow's milk but only the supplements had any effect anyway. I try to get exercise which helps, also. I started having symptoms when I was in my twenties. Oh, I am trying to eat more fruits and vegetables.

Posted - Apr 21 2010 : 07:43:04 AM this is only my opinion but would like to share this. the liver has to handle what we throw at it. it could be vitamins, food,or directly exposed to a chemical.in the process of coping with the load the body makes different fighter cells and chemicals to balance its self.it can be different triggers for folks.some people get restless body. the nerve system is getting messages that are confusing it. it sends chemicals to cope. this causes a sort of toxic soupy mess on the ends of nerves. a substance that is neuro-toxic can have an effect on the brain and cause what i call a boomarang effect. it can cause other things like depression panic attacks flu symptoms.restless legs can be the whole body for some people. the body gets hyper. hot hot baths and as diana said water and getting things moving helps.sometimes i feel i could build a barn in the night i am so restless.i use some flexaril. i have a problem taking drugs. my body can not break them down due to porphria. just my thought to what is going on inside when this feeling is going on sherrye

Posted - Apr 19 2010 : 9:52:41 PM I get it when I have had to much coffee and some OTC drugs have the same effect on me. Tylenol PM is the worst. I find that I can get it to subside by walking and drinking water. Even multi vitiamins set it off too.

Posted - Apr 12 2010 : 7:53:04 PM Greetings! I.too, have been struggling of late with similar issues. I noticed that the spasms seemed to increase with the onset of menopause. It is a topic of discussion with doctor tomorrow so, as they say, news at eleven
