Hey Sheila, Hope you are feeling better. I am still doing massage and Chiro. But I have found that if I take a muscle relaxer (my doctor prescribed a very mild one) at night I feel way better during the day. I was taking it every night but am down to 2 times a week along with Advil once in a while when I know I will be on my feet all day and it seems to be helping. Chin up!!!

Feb. 22 .
Hey every one ,
Well, it is cloudy and rainy.
Not to heavy rain.
We had a beautiful sunny Sat. and Sun
It did melt a lot of the snow off .
I got my shower and head wash this morning
Looking out the bedroom window, I saw 5 baby deer. !!
All eating our grass.
Hubby is upset with them because of that and eating our pine tree in the back yard.
But,
poor deer ; we have had so much snow this winter what else are they going to eat?
Hubby said something about putting feed out for them in the lower fields near us ; that maybe they wouldn't come and eat ours
but I told him that might make more come Lol
I hope every one is having a good day
I am still sore and hurting and tired; but the hot shower did help. hugs and prayers Sheila

Sheila and everyone that has posted. This all seems all to familar to me. I have been dealing with all of the symptoms that are mentioned. As a child I had rhmantic fever and a heart murmuer and was sexually abused as a little girl. At the age of 40 I had several years of theropy for that and now my heart goes out for anyone that has experienced abuse. I was marriaged for 25 yrs. and my husband decided he wanted my best friend. Divorced! I know that he didn't believe in the theropy and at the time the weight was piling on. But of course I'm not giving him any excuses for what he did. But I was also dealing with alot of depression and body pain. Long story short, 6 months after the divorce I had 2 heart stints and complete female surgery. Was diagnosed with fibro. RA. along with back surgery in the near future. Depression is something that I have to work on all the time. It would be so easy to just throw up my hands and say I quit! But that is not a alternative. I have a beautiful family, wonderful church family and my faith in God. And I know that he has something planned for me to do. I understand the fact that people just don't know what your going through if they have never experienced this. You do hurt! You are worn out! You do need to take rest times! You do need to do things at your own speed! And it is very difficult when you can't get any sleep. And yes, you do need to share with others that do understand and sometimes just let the tears come out. It is a very lonely life with those who think you are just a wanting attention. But you are not alone, we are all here to help each other and very much blessed by that. My prayer's go out to all dealing with this situation.Let me add that I have remarried and have a wonderful husband that understands and helps me along. And also praying that everyone contiues to check back and keep your life line going with this post, filled with lots of caring, love, and understanding. We are all sister's here and there was a reason for us finding this place with each other.

Prayers, an Hugs!

I too have been dealing with something for over 10 years. The doctors all give me conflicting reports and want me to try and I have many different medications. Unfortunately the Rx's have mostly produced sever side effects. BUT...... I have had huge results with Chiropractic treatment, Acupuncture and Massage. I also see an herbalist who has me a few supplements that have been a life saver. The great part is they all charge about the same as my deductible for a doctor's visit and the supplements are about the same as my co-pay. I am not saying that I live with out pain. At the moment my body is just throbbing from my shoulders to my toes. So today I will do what I can and the rest I will leave for tomorrow. I am lucky that DH understand and helps all he can. I am very frustrated with it all but it could be worse I have been bed ridden in the past. I get discourage because I did just turn 50 and worry if I will be able to keep up with my Grands. March 1st I start a slow and easy exercise program hopefully it will help so I can ride my motorcycle and dirt bike this year. We all need to stick together and let each other know what works and what doesn't. Support each other. I will pray for all.

Thanks for the kind words
I too live in the woods
On the side of a mountain to be extact !
in the country on our small farm
Today is sunny.
Took Mom out yesterday ; it was so windy and cold
and when we got to the grocery store it started snowing !
I told Mom we had better hurry
I don't like driving in the snow .
Then , when we went around doing the shopping ; the sun came out
We are suppose to get up to 4 to 8 inches of snow at the end of this week started Friday afternoon and into Sat
We have had a lot of snow this year
We haven't seen this much snow in years
Not since my dad died in 2005
So, I suppose we are making up for lost time
My bones and body are aching as usual .
Seems like I am in always pain
I do get a few minutes off from pain now and then
Thanks for asking ; hugs sheila

Phyllis,

We are in Brooksville....REALLY out in the woods! I lived in South Carolina for almost 8 years, near Greenville/Spartanburg, and I miss that climate, my friends and my parents. But, I found it was just growing so quickly, and getting so crowded.

Thank you for asking, and for your compassion too!
Lisa

Hi Sheila, I had had fibromyalgia symptoms since my teens( I'm 57 now). I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue syndrome about 15 yrs ago. My daughter is thrity two years old and developed CFS when she was sixteen. I also have many of the illness you describe. it does make life challenging doesn't it?

I wish I had the words to take away your pain, but I don't. I can suggest a couple of things that help me. one is when my body says rest, I try to do it, actually I don't have much choice in that as my ability to walk goes away if I don't. LOL.

I have found that for me, Valerian root supplements help me sleep. I have used Trazadone and it helps the pain and helps me sleep, but it can elevate blood pressure and I don't need that. the valerian you can get at the health food store and even Walmart I think. it smells awful, but it does work for me.

another thing that helps is avoiding food additives, artificial sweeteners, and colors.

one more thing, you are dealing with a lot. being sick, tired and in pain, is depressing. I would be worried about you if you didn't get a little down sometimes. I'm glad you reach out for support and strive to find joy when you can. hang on to your hope, your faith and joy. vent any ole time you need to and know that your farmgirl sisters care.

Elizabeth and Melody, so sorry that you know what this illness is like. Elizabeth I'm really sorry to hear about your daughter, glad she has you to love and support her through this. Melody, good for you!!!! I'm so glad that you have found something that works for you.

hugs and healing energy to you all. Phyllis

This all sounds so familiar. I was diagnosed with fibro several years ago. I also had a serious bout with depression, so much so that I got up to a whopping 275 pounds! But with the help of my doctor, I began taking Cymbalta and Trazidone to help me sleep. I joined Curves and began to work out and started their weight management program. I finally got a job at Curves because it worked so well. So far, I have lost 54 pounds, 28 inches, and 26 body fat pounds. It has been the hardest thing I have ever done. But, I discovered that the more I moved and worked out, the less I hurt. My brain is less foggy and I have a new attitude on life in general. For the first time in YEARS, I don't have to buy clothes in the Plus Size section. I have learned how to eat correctly, switching to organic as much as possible, (which doesn't mean I don't have a greasy hamburger once in a while), but I am now empowered. Make a commitment and stick to it! I am praying for you girls.

Thank you for your prayers, Sheila.

I want to clarify that I was diagnosed with Fibro (only with Lupus tendencies). It has been very under control for years.

My daughter was just diagnosed with the serious case of Lupus mixed with lots of other stuff. It is my daughter for whom I covet your prayers, other than I am struggling as a mom, seeing my daughter hurting and going through so much, and there is nothing I can do....except pray. I would take it from her in a second if I could...I can't and that breaks my heart wide open.

Thank you again for your prayers. I lift you and the others who struggle with Fibro and Chronic Fatigue, as well as Lupus, to God. It is real, as is the pain. You have many on this web who understand all too well!

After a series of 'strange' bouts of hives that rendered me unable to breathe, swollen, and seemingly brought about by no identifable cause, I was given steroids and sent to an allergy specialist.

They could find nothing significant, so they sent me to a pulmonologist, and back to my primary physician. By this time, I had 'migratory' pain and I NEVER slept.

Albeit, at the time, I was in my early thirties, a single mom, going to college, raising two teenagers, working two jobs at the school and staying up all night to complete homework and writing (my passion). It was early in the 1990s.

Finally, after every physician behaving like I was out of my mind because nothing too significant showed up in tests, and with little help other than to treat my symptoms, my daughter came across a friend whose mother had Lupus. She suggested I see a rheumatologist because my symptoms seemed very familiar to her.

This doctor saved my life. He diagnosed me with fibromyalgia with Lupus-tendancy, since the factors used to diagnose Lupus came out as border-line, but I has all the painful trigger points surrounding fibro., and my sleep disorder was significant.

He helped so much by first acknowledging that I was not crazy; second, by putting me on something that helped me REALLY sleep; and third, by teaching me that this was real and that my life style would have to change.

I made it through all those tough depressing times when I felt I could barely finish school; I was a horrible mother; that my house had to be neglected, and life simplified to a great degree; and I finally came out on the other side.

For me, prayer and my faith got me through when I felt like giving up. I have pain still, but no major flare-ups for quite awhile.

I went through testing for Lupus, Lyme Disease and every other auto-immune disorder, always testing out at borderline, again and again.

Now...I am very sad to say that my daughter, aged 29, and an RN, single mom with three beautiful children, has been diagnosed with Lupus, and five out of six possible auto-immune disorders, all in a severe state. My heart is broken for her, as for all of you, and I lift you in prayer, along with my daughter, Tiffany, and covet your prayers for her.

Looking back to try and imagine a cause for it all, I endured an abusive marriage where I had physical as well as emotional trauma, I pushed myself too hard, but also, we lived in a place where insecticides were used very freely around my rented old house to combat ants, and my house had a dirt-floored basement. I wonder about the environmental stresses of insecticides and the chemicals so many of us are surrounded by on a daily basis. I now see that genetics play a part as well.

For me, acknowledging God as being able to fight my battles far better than I helped tremendously. I believe God is a God of Love and Miracles. I lift you all to Him. Warmly, Lisa
