Posted - Dec 12 2009 : 6:11:08 PM I was wondering if anyone knows if it is okay to use Monistat for a yeast infection during your last trimester? I called my Dr, but it ended up being after hours, so I couldn't get a hold of anyone and had to leave a message. Now, I have to wait until Monday, but I would really like to know now, because let's face it ladies. Yeast infections are the epitome of grossness and I'd like some relief fast. Thanks girls! ![](icons/icon_smile_blush.gif)

Posted - Dec 13 2009 : 10:18:21 PM Dear Jessie, Monistat is considered safe in pregnancy. You can even use the generic drug store brand version. You may want to use the 7 day cure as yeast tends to get entrenched in pregnancy due to body chemestry changes, whereby it can become chronic. There was a post running last week or maybe 10 days ago about " female concerns" where many of us wrote about yeast infections, including for pregnancy. Good luck! ~ Mary LD

You might ask Mary (MaryLD) from Leander TX.... she's a midwife and just posted the other day about using peroxide, tea tree oil, and boric acid for yeast infections.

Posted - Dec 13 2009 : 06:58:27 AM Thanks ladies. I am calling my dr again in the morning. Kris--You are right about it being an insert, and since they are telling me I've only a few weeks left, I didn't think it was going to be something they would suggest I do. I didn't think to google Monistat..lol. computer thinking is just not my thing. Great idea! :D hugs,

Posted - Dec 12 2009 : 8:46:17 PM Jessie, eat plain yogurt or drink buttermilk. Don't you insert the Moinstat? I don't know if I would do that as far along as you are right now. But that's just me. I have only ever had one yeast infection and that was when I had to take some kind of sulfer antibiotic for a tooth infection. It was horrible. I don't ever want to go through that again.
