I am having a bad bout of the crabbies!!!

I am just not happy, a good description would be blah.......

I am not sure if it is boredom with my job, or if i think I am bored dut to the blah's.
Even my normal fun things of reading, stitching and such seem to not help & I don't really care to do them.
Oh, by the way its not PMS not the right time. Actually this should be my "Happy" part of the month.
I feel sorry for my SI I know I am so blah when I get home that he probably want's to run.

Does anyone else go thru this???

I am thinking about getting some 5HTP that I seen the gals talking about in the thread "depression".

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm so blah, I can hardly stand myself

My crabbies and general ill attitude comes in cycles sometimes or influenced by diet. I try so hard to take calcium supplements. Sadly, I'm a Diet Pepsi junkie and chocaholic. Both of which do not blend well for calcium absorption, sadly I know. The tip-off too is when I'll reach for salty chips, then in the same meal, pound down something really sweet.

Upping the calcium really makes a difference in attitude and diet...just ask my hubby, cause that other monster just isn't me.

Something to note too-calcium carbonate is not calcium citrate, and it's the C citrate that is better absorbed and more benificail for bone protectoin and attitude adjustment. So forget popping Activa and Tums. This is someting not many people know unless you have access to health journals and such.

My mom gets that SAD. Winters in Ohio were the pits for her (and us when we still lived at home). So when she and Dad were looking to relocate, sunny NC seemed to fit the bill.

In the past 3 years they have been down here, I have noticed quite a difference.

I get this way too sometimes. Thank Goddess it doesn't come too often and when it does it doesn't hang around. Different things pull my out depending on what's going on at the time. Right now for me it's mostly the lack of sun, it rains here so much you start forgetting what sunny days are like. My whole life changes when the sun comes out. I hate being in a funk and I think to myself if ya hate it so much what are ya doing there, get out of it...I wish it was that easy. You'll get through, sunny days are coming!

Blessed Be

I have to laugh about Perky, I have a co-worker that has said someting similiar.

If she only knew that I would have like to take her perkiness and put it you know where!! I know she means well, but things just seem to "REALLY" get to you when you are in one of these moods.
I work as a PC support person and answer the phone all day, which is really hard sometimes on these days!! I am supposed to sound happy & helpful. When I really want to say "Just leave me be!!"

Those who haven't suffered thru these down spells don't understand, like we feel like planning new fun things, we usually don't even want to do our regular fun things. I feel lucky to get dressed and teeth/hair brushed and off to work somedays!!

The strange thing is I am usually viewed as a very optimistic person most of the time, but it seems when I go down, I am down!!
Luckily it only happens every once in a while and lasts only a day or two. SI says I'm Jeckle/Hyde :)
Sometimes I really think I am also!! I agree it has helped sooooo much talking to you gals!!

Hang in there Rose!

It is frustating when there is no one you can talk to or who understands. I once had lunch with two friends during the winter blahs. One of them goes through the same thing and the other is frighteningly perky this time of year. Perky listened to us talk about how we felt and then chimed in, "Well, you just have to plan fun things. Go out and do things. Surround yourself with people!" I stared at her in mystified horror. My other friend said, "People. PEOple. PEOPLE!" The way a manic might say Kill, KIll, KILL!

Poor Perky, she really did mean well and I know that those who don't experience SAD cannot possible grasp how it feels.

BUT, you've got us!

Every year at this time I suffer, it's like clock work. Winters not over and spring seems so far away. But when a little warm weather comes our way it starts to go away. Maybe I need to move some where with shorter winters. Who knows, but it has really helped hearing from you Bridge. I am a little short on the friend department and sick of not being able to talk about these things, it helps getting it out. Thanks for sharing Bridge.

Rose that is so similiar to me............... We live in a small town, as close to the country as you can get and still be considered a town!! I have lived here my entire life. I convinced SI to move here and we are getting close to the point of building..............
But lately I could care less........He has even been drawing up sketches and such and I just sigh/whine that I need a bigger yard!!
Bless his heart, he even made the house sketch smaller to make more yard!!
But lately I think he could lay gold eggs & I would still be blahhhhhhhhhh. I'd probably tell him I wanted silver
My mom sounds like your dad..... She told me to get over it, my life could be alot worse!!!

Lucinda, Is there any remedies for SAD other than moving to the Caribeean??

I think talking to you gals has helped (I don't have any/many friends) or maybe the sun or a combo of both... I do feel better
today.

Hey Bridge, I hope the sunny day will bring your spirits up. I know how you feel. I am in a weird funk this week. I can't even look at my craft projects. I think I got a little burnt out. Maybe try doing something new. I think that’s what I am going to do. My Fiancé and I have been having small arguments about our future plans. It's like I just woke up and didn't want to live where we are. We have the perfect farm and everything here but the town isn't the type of community I wanted to live in. And at the drop of the hat I get crabby, my dad told me I need a good kick in the butt! Hopefully we can't kick this funk. Hang in there, Springs coming! Rose

The sun is out today, it actually awoke me this morning.
I feel a little better, hopefully it is just the weather!!

I also have been making myself recite what I am thankful for everytime I feel really blah..........

As they say this to shall pass.............

The blues thread was great, thanks Libbie.
It does help to know everyone has these!!

Hugs to all my farmgal buddies!! Thanks for being there for me!!

Bridge - I'm so sorry to hear that you're down in the mouth. I believe that I know the feeling - the ladies here were so wonderful in providing me some hints and information in the thread "Across the Fence/'Just Have to Shake These Blues" - check out the list there and see what you think...

Sometimes all it takes is knowing that some people out there really DO care how you are doing, and WE DO!!!

XOXO, Libbie
