My daughter is suffering her second tract infection, or a recurrence of the first one, since giving birth four weeks ago. Have any of you had this happen too?

She is nursing, so they cannot give her a whopper medicine antibiotic, but she does have the capsule (I bought them for her today) and is trying to drink a lot. Please remember her in your prayers. And thank you for the post.

Yes!! When both of my children were born, I had recurrent urinary tract infections. Because she has to wear a panty liner or pad (sorry for the personals) for such a long period of time, her area isnt able to breath. That along can cause an infection. The tendency also is to be so busy with baby that you forget to drink lots and lots of water. It is prefectly safe ,even if she is nursing, to take cranberry capsules and drink lots of water or cranberry juice. Usually, they go away fairly easily though she needs make sure that if after a weeks time, that she goes and gets it checked out. UTIs can turn into bacterial or kidney infections if they arent taken care of.
Congratulations on your new grandbaby! Hope your daughter starts feeling better!
