My husband told me that I've started snoring...loud enough to wake him up 3 nights this week. Makes me feel terrible. I've never snored before.
And, I seem to have painful arthritis in my hands. It started about 2 weeks ago, and has gotten progressively worse, to the point that I can't even turn on the faucet in the morning for the shower. They really HURT. It's more prominent in the two middle fingers, and my thumbs. In fact, my right thumb keeps "locking" at the joint various times of the day and night, and I've had to make a makeshift splint to stop that from happening--it REALLY hurts to "undo" it. They also go numb while I'm sleeping, which wakes me up, so my sleep has been limited. Funny, someone told me it would be going to the bathroom--that's not the case with me!

I read online (through UC at Berkley, CA's site) that this sometimes happens to pregnant women who type all day (which is me)...the swelling affects the carpal tunnel nerve moreso, and you end up with arthritis type pain.

Did anyone else experience this? What did you do? The pharmacist told me that I couldn't use epsom salts, because of the magnesium. So, I've been taking the approved Tylenol Arthritis. I'm thinking that I'll talk to my doc on Tuesday and see what they say...it's not long now till she gets here, but 6 more weeks of this is a pain..no pun intended.

HI Feb.
I got really bad cases of arthritis when I had my son. The severe outbreaks only lasted through the pregnancy. I was doing secretarial work while I was pregnant so typing was a big thing. I found that soaking my hands in epsom salt and mildly hot water helped to relieve some of the soreness and even the numbness.:) Sorry you are having such a rough time. I know what it can be like, I've definitly been there. I promise everything even the arthritis and snoring and the maternity clothes are all MORE than worth it in the end!!!
hugs!

When I snore, it means I am exhausted, so get thee some rest. Get your feet up and drink lots of water and watch what you eat. I get "sore" joints from things like caffeinatad drinks and some foods. Yes, talk to your doc too. How about using one of those microwaveable bean filled warmers and putting it over the joints??? I hope you feel better. : )
