Hello all! I just recently started using Dr. Bronner's soap in the shower, and I love it!! I washed my hair with it for the first time today and the pepperminty-ness of it felt wonderful on my scalp :) I tried brushing my teeth with it, but I didn't like the soapy taste. Apparently you can wash your dishes and your clothes with it too... I was wanting to try the hair-rinse/conditioning cream, but can't find it in my local health food store. Has anyone tried this new product? I had to use a regular conditioner, and it worked fine, but I'd like to try the rinse. Thoughts?

I use it around the house, but that is it. I have a big bottle to use up.
My skin doesn't like it; I must be allergic to one of the ingredients. However, if I wear gloves, I am okay.
It didn't work so hot in my dishwater either.

But, I am glad I tried it!

I think they import their oils...because on their website they advertise Fair Trade...so I don't think the whole product is imported, just some of the oils. That's the gist I got from the website...

Dr. Bronners is made in California...sounds like some sort of rip off if it imported. Hmmm???

Christine, are you sure its imported? I looked at my label and it said, "Made in USA". Has it changed recently? Where is it imported from? Thanks,

Jana

I looked into carrying Dr Bronners in the store, and after I found out it was imported I changed my mind. Our health food store carries it anyways. A lot of my customers have said the same thing that it was ruining their skin.
I'm going to be carrying a "tooth soap" soon! Soooo exciting!

I love the Dr. Bronners lavender and use it to make a natural insect repellant. I found the same thing as Jana - it didn't work very well on other things. I noticed that my hands got really dry from using it in the dish water too. But I have very dry skin so that probably didn't help.

I really like the unscented Dr. Bronners. I use it for my face when I'm really oily, as I am also sensitive. Also, when my psoriasis is acting up.

I've not had great luck with using it as a shampoo...it leaves too much residue and it really doesn't cut the grease when doing dishes. Maybe its our water, but it just leaves flakes floating in the dishwater.

I find that using plain Ivory liquid for handwashing, dishes and other cleaning (even for floors) works the best for me and doesn't seem to be as harsh as other detergents.

I've tried it and I am highly allergic to it. (my skin came off, I was literally bleeding-took about a year, before I could actually get my skin to grow back, with out bleeding and itching horribly, I tried the dr bonners though for about 6 months. Then finally figured out that was why all my skin was off, constantly bleeding, and itchy) But, I find a cheap and easy conditioner for my hair, is just apple cider vinegar and water. It works GREAT!
