I dont know if any of you have heard, but using Head and Shoulders Hair shampoo as a body wash when you have a rash or skin issue going on really helps. My co-worker overheard me talking to my daughter the other day when she said, to make her an appointment that her rash condition was flaring up again. Jackie said to use head and Shoulders hair soap as a skin soap and the first time Tara used it, it felt really good on her rashy area, then next day she noticed it even clearing up. Now, I suppose that any no name brand would work cos it's actually because of the high concentration of the zinc in the shampoo. I have also heard the TIDE laundrey soapy is the worse for those who have skin irritations, guess who was using it. I took up my homemade stuff and we'll see if that was the cause all along. (BTW, this was another stroy of the dr cant find a med that works to keep this rash and I mean rash with crust and ooze, to keep it under control or help with the pain and itch.)

my husband happened to see something on tv about eczema....he said that they said Noxema (that face cream in the blue jar) supposedly was made by/for someone with eczema. that's how they came up with the name-----No exema! my friend's son had it in florida on his feet and they would develope really bad problems because he was always in the water...on the sand bar.., etc. anyway, she tried putting it on his feet and it helped.

I would be carfuel on washing my hair with baking soda especially if you color treat it. I had a hariddresser friend tell me that if a color is too dark you can make a paste of baking soda and water and wash your hair with it. It will pull the color out 50% faster. It sounds good for the skin though. I do like too sit with my feet in my dish pan and let them soak. They always omes out soft, but a film of white that I have to wash off. I will tell Tara though.

I'll have to try that for dh. He has eczema in various places. Oh, there's also Selsun Blue, which I used to use on my hair when I had eczema on my scalp and edge of my hairline and that cleared it up very well. Why didn't I think of that before?!

I started using it on my daughter when she was 6 months! It's been working great for her. It's all natural, unlike those soaps we buy for babies.

Do you think that this work for a baby with minor eczema flare ups?

Yes, I am extremely allergic to tide!

Also I have found that just washing my daughter with baking soda works great. We no longer use shampoo or soap, only baking soda. And no more rashes!

It could also be your daughters diet causing the rash. She might be sensitive to a food additive or something. You'd be surprised what can happen to our bodies when we eat things it doesn't like!!!

Did she see a dermatologist for her condition? Just curious. If the Head and Shoulders is working, GREAT! But if it's a continuous problem she really should see a specialist. It could be a sign of a more serious underlying health condition. Hope your daughter is better!!!
