Ok, so what can I (we) do to help lessen the effects of the inevitable cold/flu/crud/ickies season? I am already giving Charlie an multi-vitamin every other day and lots of liquid, washing hands, baths and fresh air. He eats a few bites of vegetables and I make smoothies and he drink some. Tonight it is going to be blueberries and banana. What else can we do? With the scare of giving OTC medicines to our wee one's, I think prevention is key. Any other suggestions?

P.S. Charlie started a sniffle last week, allergies??? cold???, don't know but he swam in his little pool which had some cold water in it (it is still in the 80's-90's here), just for about 15 minutes. Then, I brought him in, dried him off and dressed him in a t-shirt and shorts. I SWEAR it helped him NOT get sick. What do you think???

When mine were little, we had "afternoon tea" every day after school, so they could get their daily dose of honey! Of course, they are girls and it was easier to have a "tea party", but if Charlie likes honey on biscuits or some such. I'm not positive of the official medicinal properties to quote any, but we always start with tea and honey as soon as the weather changes to ward off the yukkies.

Hard to say about the pool cure, but the vitamins and extra fruit & veggies can only help!
