Posted - Aug 04 2008 : 1:07:03 PM Hi everyone, About a month ago I started taking Supermom, which is simply a multi-vitamin & mineral, plus tons of extra B-vitamins and some great super-foods, like spirulina. They are available through www.Beeyoutiful.com.
I feel SO much better when I take these vitamins! I was starting to have a lot of nauseasness and exhaustion (in my early pregnancy) but it almost entirely quit when I started taking Supermom! And for comparasion, I felt no results from normal adult multivitamins, and only a slight improvement with Walmart's over-the-counter prenatals.
Although it's called "Supermom" it's a good supplement for women (or teenage girls) of any age. For those who are pregnant, you should take additional Folic Acid (Supermom only has 400 mcg).
Just thought I'd share my "sucess story"! |

Posted - Aug 03 2008 : 6:07:23 PM I take a B- vitamin, especially with all I have going on and college starting. It seems to help. Also, green smoothies. We don't get enough greens in our diets. I make mine with spinach, banana, a little water, agave nectar or honey and whatever fruit you like to add. I swear this helps a lot.

Kal makes a good multi-vitamin. It is sold at most healthfood stores.
Whatever you decide on, a natural vitamin is better than a synthetic (sp?). You also might check you iodine. You can do this by buying tincture of iodine. The stuff they used to smear on you before surgery. It cost about 2.50 and is sold at drugstores. Paint a spot above your abdomen about the size of a silver dollar. You should be able to see this spot for 16 hours. Any less and you need iodine....actually every cell in your body needs iodine to work.

Posted - Aug 03 2008 : 1:41:46 PM Hi Susie-
Yup! You can buy pre-natal vitamin in the vitamin aisle. I don't just take B-12, I take a pill that has the whole spectrum of B vitamins in it. It's amazing. I have been taking my vitamin cocktail for 2 days now and I feel like a new me!

Posted - Aug 03 2008 : 1:29:48 PM Thanks Alee! I think that I heard somewhere that you can prenatal vitamins over the counter now. If thats true then I need to get some. I have a bottle of b-12. Don't really know the difference in all those "b" vitamins but if the ones you are taking work - then I need to try those! Thanks again. |

Posted - Aug 03 2008 : 1:05:11 PM Hi Susie!
I have been taking my left-over prenatal vitamins coupled with a Super B Complex vitamin. I can feel it within an hour and I have loads of energy and am less grumpy as well!
