Posted - Jul 09 2008 : 04:45:53 AM Hi sisters, I really need advice and experience about this. I was in the hospital a couple of days with chest pain and spiking blood pressure. I had the IV drug stress test done and everything came out negative for heart attack. Within a half hour or so after the stress test I began having nosebleeds. I have never had one, even in dry climate. I had 2 about an hour apart then a few days later a real bad one: including big blood clot down my throat and spit it out. (sorry for the grossness) My family Dr. said yes, they are from the damage from stress test. I had another one yesterday...total 4 within a week. Now she is sending me to ear, nose, throat specialist. I don't want to go....tired of doctors. My blood pressure continues to be high and it seems the doctors just aren't trying to help me. They treated me different as soon as the "anxiety" diagnosis came. The doctors and nurses are short and don't want to be bothered with me. Any expereiences or advice from my farmgirls?
The chest pain is not to be ignored and of course I take it seriously, I am 58 years old with a history of 30 years treated for high blood pressure. Linda

Posted - Jul 25 2008 : 09:17:50 AM Linda I hope you are feeling better! I would try to get more opinions, that is see different doctors. If you're not happy with one diagnosis move on to the next doctor. I know a lot of people who found this to be the only way to get to the bottom of things. Good luck dear, I hope you are able to find someone who can really help you!!

Posted - Jul 10 2008 : 08:53:51 AM I don't take blood thinner other than a whole adult aspirin these last few days. The first thing I did was stop them. I get tired of going to doctors all the time.

Posted - Jul 09 2008 : 6:47:07 PM Are you taking any blood thinners? If so this could also cause nose bleeds as well as hpertension.

Posted - Jul 09 2008 : 5:47:50 PM I just looked up nosebleeds in internet...and a cause is high blood pressure. I think the stress test must have pushed the pressure up that much. Anyone have any ideas?
