I'm starting Weight Watchers tonight and I"m wondering if I have any WWFG sisters? I've been a member before - did pretty well, lost about 25 pounds, then I went to stay at the cabin and meetings were about 60 miles away, and never went back. Slowly, the weight came back on, plus 6 more pounds, so it's time to get serious again. My dog that passed away had a stroke and the doc tells me that's where I"m heading if I don't lose weight and get my bp down, so I decided to go back to WW as I don't want my poor family to go through what I did when my little dog was suffering. Maybe his death won't be in vain - at least that's how I'm looking at it.

Well, I never really did hit any major plateaus. At this point it is just coming off SLOWLY!! I just don't worry about it as I know it will all come off eventually. I do workout a lot, everyday actually and I know that really made a huge difference. I had really bad knees and had surgery on them that really didn't seem to help. After dropping some of the weight and going to the gym, they are SOOOO much better.

I do hope that that you let us know how you are doing. Good luck!

Hi Cindy - thanks for responding. I have been on WW only for five days now - so far so good, even with an impromptu camping trip with a group of people (thank goodness for Flex Points!) - hopefully I'll be down a little at weigh in on thursday. I try and walk everyday - that's about all the exercise I get because I sit down at my sewing machine all day to work. I also have a bum knee, which I hope will be helped by losing some lbs. Congrats on your weight loss - did you hit any plateaus on the way? I went to WW one other time - I lost about 20 lbs or so, then totally lost interest and gained it all back, plus some of course! I too have a lot to lose - haven't set a goal yet, but I would think about the same as you. I'm short - 5', so I shouldn't be carrying this much weight. I"ll check in after the meeting Thursday night!

Sherri, I am happy that you started W.W. and I think it will be a useful tool in your weight loss. I am about 5 lbs away from my W.W. goal and hope to be there in the next few weeks. At this point, I have lost 63 lbs and feel wonderful! Yep, I had a LOT to lose but I am nearly there! I can tell you right now that you made the right choice to get your BP down. Even a few pounds can really make a difference. I do work out a lot along with watching my diet. Do you like to exercise? That will be really helpful if you do. You will have to let us all know how it's going and if you need a diet buddy, email me, I'll be there for ya! Cindy

i tried WW a long time ago.....i didn't have too much weight to lose, so i wasn't into it like i should have been....anyway, now that i have more weight to lose than i'd like, i decided to try jennie craig. (my daughter has about 50 lbs. to lose, and i have about 25 lbs. to lose) anyway, the reason i went with this diet is that i heard that the food tastes pretty good, and with everything portioned, you can't mess up! i get one box for dinner...we do get to add salads and a few other things, too. it just seems easier for me, as soon as i have too many choices, i go nuts and don't have any self control!! but it is expensive. i put on the "weight buddies" that most people could almost do it themselves by just using a little bowl or a dessert plate for their dinner plate! i have also tried nutra system, the one where they send you the food.....i only did that for about a month and a half.....the food, vegtable lasagna and the bar-b-que chicken!!, started to taste the same to me after a while!
