Posted - Sep 21 2005 : 7:39:58 PM I was meditating about two months ago and got this message that I wanted to share. It said that a healthy soul keeps your physical body healthy, not the other way around. This made sense to me, because I believe that one's true mission in life is protect the health of one's soul and allow it to grow in knowledge. I don't see a lot of people who protect the health of their souls. They may take vitamins, and work out, and get rest, but they put themselves under so much emotional pain and stress (and just leave themselves there). They make life decisions without ever considering how it might injure their soul's health and well-being. And I wonder sometimes if it isn't because no one has ever taught us to do this. I know it would be the first thing I would (and have)taught my child to do. What could be more important? If we respect and nourish and take good care of our bodies, this is great. But if we consider that the body is a vessel that holds the most precious item of all, why don't we take better care of the prize inside? |

Posted - Sep 23 2005 : 08:48:13 AM That's a great point, one that shows up in my daily life. My fiance has a much cheerier nature than I do... very positive all the time. I try to be, but I find myself in a grumpy, mean state (too often!). I get colds more frequently and more severely than he does, even though we live together. Something to remember when I'm meditating or otherwise cleaning up my interior!
