Hey Ladies
I am looking for "tried & true" eczema relief for a baby.
My granddaughter is 18 months old and has it very bad on her legs. Nothing has worked and she has 3 rx creams.
Any advice?

Hi Autumn,
There is a natural oil called "Neem" that works amazingly well on eczema. My girlfriend who is an herbalist uses this on her 17 yr. old son who has horrible eczema and dandruff. She reports that 2-3 x's a day uses have made it all go away.
That's the good part. The bad part is that it smells about as vile as anything I have experienced. Somewhere between sulfur and stinky foot. Yep, that's about accurate. It does work though!
And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk to blossom |

Alson consider it could be a milk allergy. I use a comfrey salve for my daughter. But her eczema got MUCH better once we took her completely off dairy and any dairy proteins.

Autumn - my grandson has horrible eczema and has had since he was a baby. Missy makes a calendula soap that is all she uses for her son. She also makes a calendula salve that is great too. She probably has both it in her Etsy shop. http://lamargueritefarm.etsy.com

I have used Weleda as well as Country Comfort-which has two or three kinds and one of them doesn't have calendula in it. The one I have found that works the best though is my own that I made last summer (I am nearing the bottom of the barrel now :( )
Second to my own I would have to pick Country Comfort. The one that we are using right now in addition to the remainder of my salve doesn't have calendula in it, but it does have Golden Seal, Myrrh and Vit. E and I have been seeing some great results on Zoe and Rob (He also has psoriasis.)

Tasha,
Can you recommend a calendula salve? We used one from Weleda, but my son was allergic to something in it. He has terrible alleries, nuts sometimes soy too.
I'm interested in the suppliments too. We are really trying to keep him off of medication & steroids. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

I heard that Melaleuca "Relief," lotion works really well. It's expensive, but you can get it for a little cheaper on ebay.

I agree! Honey and calendula. I've suffered with it my entire life and this is all that has ever worked.

honey right on the skin right before a bath.
also calendula salve
milk baths
not bathing every day.
goat milk based body butter.
I have a babe with psoriasis. all tried and true remedies.
ALSO you might like to try getting her on a probiotic supplement made for children. Since we started the probiotics just over a year ago we rarely have a flare up, though she does have some itchy patches and such which get taken care of by any of the remedies above.
