Has anyone here gone vegan? I'm considering it for health reasons, not because I am opposed to eating meat or animal products. I've been reading a book on diabetes and in their study people who followed a vegan diet and got all animal fat out of their body have been able to seriously cut back and many times totally go off their medication. My thought is to try it out to see if I can prevent myself from having to go on medication at all with my recient prediabetes diagnosis. I still need to discuss it with my naturopath and my doctor but it's something I'm seriously considering. Though I'll admit that I'm struggling with the idea a little because, obviously with the state I'm in, I like meat and dairy products...lol
If anyone here has any tips or recipes I'd love them!

We got a package of Don Lee Farms vege patties at Costco the other day. Yes, I was caught by the sample lady. But they are probably the best I have had thus far.

We are not Vegan, but I am working towards it. We have two daughter that can no longer have any dairy products and our diet has been changing significantly over the last year. Eating more vegan foods is part of this natural progression.

Good luck and let us know as you find good recipes and what groceries you like!

Lord, keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth!

Sure! Morning star farms-in any grocery store frozen section has "crumbles" We use them in spagetti, for tacos, casseroles etc. in place of ground beef. I can't tell the difference! I love Boca burgers. I love baked tofu-but you probably have to get it at a health food store! Some of the veggie cheeses are amazing! Its sooo much easier to go veg now. You can make lentil and split pea soup.We eat alot of bean dishes. Its endless.I eat tons of fruit and dark leafy green salads eveyday. My favorite salad dressing is Annie's Goddess dressing- i eat it on everything!LOL! Anyway would love to encourage you any way I can! Many hugs!
