Posted - Aug 06 2007 : 5:03:50 PM Ok, so in a round about way, I was watching a biography on Joan Crawford and saw her with her face cream on and thought "wow, I should try that..." (yes I come up with ideas in the strangest moments) So I am looking for an old fashioned face cream- the thick, yummy stuff. Any recommendations??
Cheers,
Heather |

Posted - Aug 09 2007 : 1:26:45 PM I like whipped shea butter the best. Cut with a little olive oil and scented with an EO suited for facial use. Just a little dab goes a long way. ~ no weird chemicals or names I can't pronounce.

You can still buy both Noxzema and Pond's Cold Cream. When I smell Noxzema I think of my grandma. She used it every night on her face. When I smell Vita-Moist face cream from Avon I think of my mom.
I use a calendual cream that I get from a gal that used to be on the forum. It is wonderful and has helped my rosacea.

Posted - Aug 07 2007 : 12:49:44 PM Yes they still make ponds, I have been using there cleansing cream forever. They have a huge line of face creams out now. I use a higher end night cream now, but still use the cleansing cream for my make up removal. I have always been a reg. user of face cream. My grandmother used to say, if nothing else, moisturize moisturise moisturize. So whatever works for you just do it. NANCY JO

Posted - Aug 06 2007 : 7:25:34 PM I remember Noxema! Do they still make that? I might have to go buy a jar just for old time's sake! I remember that we were never without a huge jar of that in my house (Five women) and I remember how cool that would make your skin feel. It certainly felt great on sunburns!
