So have any of you tried the new myAlli diet pill? It really sounds scary! If you haven't heard about it, you take one with each meal and you're supposed to only eat 15 g of fat, or the pill blocks the extra fat from being absorbed into your system. It kicks it out in the form of ?????????? They warn to stay home the first few days you take it (close to the bathroom I guess) and that some side effects are gas with oily spotting (doesn't that sound special?) and bowel movements that you may not be able to control. Also advise to wear panty liners until your body adjusts to it.
I don't know about you, but I think I'd rather be fat.

Once again, I'll say it - it's going to be pulled off the market soon, I'll bet.

The thing I don't understand is how you can avoid deficiencies in fat soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K. And what about the EFAs like Omega 3s and other nutrients carried in fats? Seems this product would carry the good stuff right out with the undigested fats.

I understand that it's a reduced amount of the prescription drug, Xenical. I dunno; I have dry skin and dry hair, I need all the good fats (olive oil, nut oils, fish oils) that I can get. I don't think this product can discriminate between that and some potato chips.

I suppose if someone is morbidly obese, it beats lapband surgery. But for the majority of the world, it sounds silly and a bit reckless.

Diet and excersize ladies...that is the long term fix. And try not to think of going on a "diet", instead think about a lifestyle change. This is so much more long term than any "diet" could be. Remember, if you walk enough and adjust your eating habits to limit the empty calorie/pre-packaged stuff you can enjoy the fattening treat now and again. Our society pushes the ultra-slim as the goal stuff at us night and day, but remember this as well, as long as you feel good and can do most of the things you want, the number on the scale is just a number.
If it looks too good to be true, it probably is! And how attractive will you feel knowing that you may not be able to predict or stop a BM!! Think about it. This is some scary stuff now.

I had to have a liver biopsy a couple years ago. Come to find out I had fatty liver disease, my Dad has it and my uncle on my Moms side. Anyway, he told me I needed to lose some weight. I was tiny up until I had babies, I weighed 98 lbs. when my husband and I married. Well, after the weight gain from the girls I could never lose it. Which is a side effect of PCOS which I also have. He told me I needed to eat a low fat diet and work out. So I faithfully watched my fat intake and walked on the treadmill. I lost 20 lbs. I still need to lose at least 10-15 more. But when I went back to the doctor after that my liver enzymes were back to normal. All that to say, I don't think there are any quick fixes to losing weight, the side effects are horrible!! I mean who wants to poo in their pants--- ewwwwwwwwww!!!! I wish I could take a pill and be at the weight I need to be, but I don't think its reality. I was watching the news yesterday and they were talking about these pills. Now, if they could put out a pill that made me motivated to eat right and exercise then I MIGHT think about buying that one ! My opinion on weight loss is, there is nothing like eating healthy and moving your body.

OMG Cindy - did she really say that. How awful. I'll bet that stuff is off the market within 2 months. How are you doing at Weight Watchers? I used to go and did well. Then I went to stay at our cabin and the closest meeting was about 80 miles away, so I had to quit. I may go back though now that I'm back in WA.

Sherri, I was at Weight Watchers today and they were talking about it. Our leader mentioned that you should take an extra change of clothes with you just in case! Yikes! It's actually pretty sad when you think about it, people willing to go through all that! I'll stick to old fashioned eat less, move more!

I can understand why people would want to try a "Magic Bullet" but it sounds like it really messes with your digestive tract. I would rather just adapt my eating style to be healthy and limit it to what my bodies NEEDS not what my mind WANTS! LOL Like I Need that brocolli, I WANT that chocolate! LOL

Good grief, that doesn't sound smart at all. I have digestive tract challenges and that would so put me over the edge.
I can understand why someone would want to try it though. Especially if you struggle with weight. I do, but don't think that is something that I would try.
If you decided to maybe try it I would ask your doctor first, for all the risks.

yuck.
I wouldn't try it that's for sure. I can just imagine all the law suits to follow from something like that. uggh.
me..I'll stick with trying to watch what I eat. Best thing I ever tried and need to get back onto doing is the Weight Watchers program..real food for real people...no pills...right up my alley.

I hear this stuff is selling like gang busters. Does anyone known anyone that's tried it? I just want to know if the warnings are true!
knewslady Posted - Jun 22 2007 : 02:33:15 AM
And to me that is just a temporary fix. I have tried so many diet programs and pills and such and the minute I stop, guess what, the pounds start creeping back on. My problem is that I enjoy food.
But I'm like you, that sounds terribly dangerous to me.
