Hey ladies,

Just wondering if anyone else has had this. The left side of my face just hurts. Along my lower jaw and also along my cheekbone. It aches and is just there but also will really hurt off and on. Last night hurt up into my temple area as well. I do have TMJ but this feels different than usual.

Thanks!

Holly

Holly if your under a lot of stress or uptight about someone or something that could be cause too! Or maybe you grind your teeth at night that can also cause it in which case there is a guard you can use.

Chiari Malformation Level I with syrinx. (No I haven't had a MRI in over two years cause I hate the suckers and I honestly don't have any symptoms on a basic neuro screening).

Holly, If you don't mind saying, which neuro. condition do you have?
ArmyWifey Posted - Jun 19 2007 : 7:46:01 PM
Oh it's entirely possible. Plus we've been housesitting for a lady with cats --- I've been thankful that we could stay here with hubby and that I'm not sneezing my head off, eyes are red and itchy but possible that that's affecting me as well.

Nothing with me is ever simple!

Holly-

I hope you are feeling better! I know you are new to the area so I was wondering if maybe you had a new allergy acting up?

Went to the doc tonight and she basically said she thinks it's sinus. Sigh. Not so sure myself but will prob try nasal washing with collodial silver/xylitol and see if it helps. I hate moving to new doctors and figuring out which one is decent will listen to me with my laundry list of problems.... I really don't want another mri but need one done for my neuro condition. Hoping this isn't another manifestation of that.

Thanks for the prayers!

Holly

Holly, can be trigeminal neuralgia. I get this a lot. If you google it you can find quite a lot of info. on it. I can tell you that a lot of the info. states that it's an intense pain, which it can be, but I also get pain that is not severe. It it continues you may want to see a doctor for a diagnoses.

Holly,
My tmj does what you are describing. I can get migraines from mine. Using an iboprofren, motrin can help the swelling go down. Ice packs 15 minutes on an hour off. At walmart they have plastic guards that you fit for your own mouth. I use that at night when it is being a bugger. Praying for you.

No facial swelling, no obvious tenderness. Just hurts. Thanks.

It does sound like TMJ to me Holly. Maybe it's upsetting a different nerve than usual?

Ouch!

I would say sinusitis or a tooth abcess. Sometimes it's hard to differentiate between the two unless there is obvious swelling and pain around the affected tooth. Either way, you should see an MD ASAP!! Nothing to mess around with! Hope you feel better soon.

Blessings,

Missy

Is there any swelling on your face? A few years back I have pain like you described and it turned out to be an abcessed tooth. I had no tooth pain either. If it doesn't get better I would go to the Dr or a dentist. Good luck,
Alicia
