Dear Mary Jane Butters:

Recently I saw the farm fair photos posted on the website. I love them!

It's been so hot here in NYC and just seeing them makes me long for a quiet cool place in the country. I love thee one of the barn the best! I do watercolors and I'm painting it. (If you don't mind) I am working so hard to get a job so i can live on my own and save money and go live upstate and get away from NYC. Thank you Mary Jane, your book and photos help me heal from my depression.

Lots of love
Giovonnia

Good morning, Sewing Woman: How good to hear your voice through your words! Aren't words just wonderful? I have never been a depressed person, but my best friend is and she tells me that she loves to get e-mails from me so she can envision me and what I am doing every day. I hope you feel better every day that you wake up and pray that our God will lift your spirits! Each one of us is so special! So tell me, what do you sew? What kind of job would you like to get? And WHEN you get enough money to move away from NYC, what kind of place would you like to get? A little farm? Maybe a cat or two? LEt us know what your thoughts are. I'm interested in hearing from you again! Love, Susan PS: And what a beautiful name you have!

What a wonderful, inspiring story. It goes to show us, that even if we don't have the opportunity to "Know" someone personally, we never know who's lives we can touch...hopefully for good.
I really think more people need to speak out about depression. I am grateful you shared your story with me. Our society needs a better, gentler understanding of depression, anxiety etc...
Thanks.
Love and light to you,
Kate
