Do any of you have a typical Sunday night supper? I always make soup. Tonight was vegetable beef. I plan my recipe around the leftovers in the refridgerator. |

Jennifer, those big family gatherings are such wonderful things. I'm so thankful for childhood memories, aren't you! I take my turn occasionally - having the big gatherings at my place. And every time I do, I think of my Grandma. I'm amazed she did it week after week after week with so much love!

Sandy - What a wonderful story of your grandma! We don't live near family but I tried to make my own family meals special. I do remember as a child going to my great-grandpa's farm every Wed.in the summer with all the moms and cousins for a potluck lunch. My great-grandpa enjoyed seeing us all as my great-grandma had already passed. |

We normally have a hearty meal so that we can pack lunches with left overs for the week. Last night was manicotti and salad. I love to crock pot cook on Sunday. Faves are crock pot ham, but a good roast or chicken will do just fine. Sunday suppers were a tradition in our family and love to do it now.

Judy - how thoughtful ofyou to think of others. I used to make bread or muffins to go with the soup, but my husband was diagmosed with Celiac a few years ago, so I don't bother since he can't eat anything with gluten. |

We have what my husband calls a "mountain man dinner" most Sundays. We have 3 or 4 older single men in our neighborhood over for dinner and since they all love country cooking, I always have a pot of beans and alot of cornbread. The other vegetables and meat change from week to week.
