Thank you, Lisa, for the link to Local Harvest. I just found out that there is a farm I can investigate only about 20 minutes from here...I never would have know otherwise.

I have my farm and CSA registered with Local Harvest and I have gotten quite a few members from it. It is a great site and you see it being mentioned in a lot of magazines and newspapers. They really do a great job in helping promote the small farmer. Marketing is sometimes one of the hardest things and they really help to get your name out to the public.

I found the little bitty carrot up in the right hand corner and just joined, too. It took awhile. So maybe I can sell some goat milk soon!

I went on the site last night. They even have a forum. So how do I go about getting my farm on it? I did e-mail them but haven't heard back yet. Anyone else on there? And have you had good responses from being on it? I'd love to be able to get milk customers.

We are on local harvest and I love it. I have used it to find things that we do not grow and have had great success.. I really try to buy local and this is a great way to find those products

I found my local co op through them, operates basically the same way except you are picking and choosing local instead of all over and you have a pickup location and date. I am very pleased with it. I volunteered at the last pick up and met some of the producers, even more pleased, good people!

I used that to find the nearest Farmer to me so I could join a CSA. I joined and have been getting such wonderful fruits and veggies. The farm is 10 minutes away from where I live. It is all organic and if they don't grow it they will get it from other local farmers or a close as they can. You know different times crops aren't always available here. And some never are but they are guaranteed to be organic.
