Beverly here---good to be back in the states again from India. India is nice---but I do love my home in Massachusetts. We have been home a little over a week and I can not believe the damage done to part of our property in December.....it will take me another week to get rid of the downed limbs. But truthfully, thats how I know I am a farmgirl at heart....love playing in the dirt. When I'm out up in my Little India(its peaceful) I'm no longer a 60 year old but a 17 year old----I just love working outside, truly.
Once I clear the land of the damage I have to think what to do with the space....and budget wise what can I do. I don't go back to India until October....so I have plenty of time to plan and plant.
I have been to the store once----yikes food prices have soared. I am making plenty of pots of cabbage soup for the family.
Again I do want to take time to thank all the bartering gals who exchanged with me while I was in India....my son still raves about all that he got.
The biggest shock I got in India this time was how nice the malls are in New Delhi---fancy shmancy....a little too rich for me....I went to about 5 malls while I was there----pretty much all similar....except for the one that has palm trees growing in it. That had all design stores in it---I'm strictly a budget person----I didn't buy anything at any mall except one that had a store with household products. But it was a very interesting experience to see these malls once.
Good sharing with you---ttyl. Oh and the guest room I worked on is ready------feel freee to come on over and experience New Delhi with us. I will be there from the end of October til March every year.
Farm gal at heart Beverly

Welcome home Beverley!!

When I visited my brother in Thailand we too went to a mall. Fun to see but I too preferred shopping on the traditional markets and the little out-of-the-way, non tourist markets and shops!!
The mall in itself was not expensive or anything and again fun to see and browse. But they are "same old same old". And the traditional markets, and esp. the non tourist ones are way nicer and they have better stuff too.
The one thing i DID love at the mall was the aircon!!!!! With over a 100 degrees F. in the shade outside, that was nice, lol (even for me, the heat lover!!)

Hugs to you!!

Hugs from Marian/Dutchy, a farmgirl from the Netherlands :)
