For all of you that read Emilee Gettle's note about Sieger Seed Company's effort to obtain a patent on warty pumpkins and want to do something about it, here's your info.
http://www.uspto.gov/
Click on HOW TO in the left colum
click on REPORT TO USPTO in the drop down box
click on REPORT COMPLAINT RE: INVENTION PROMOTER in the right hand top box
print off complaint form, fill out and mail or fax to the number on the form.

Here is your info for the form

Siegers Seed Company
13031 Reflections Drive
Holland MI 49424

The name of the media it is advertised in is, "GRIT" newspaper

Please pitch in and keep this greedy company from making a grab on a variety of pumpkins that have been around a lot longer than this company. Also if I understood the patent it is very open and could include all warty curbits, so it is a dangerous precedent if it suceeds.

Hey TS, I just saw this and went to the site. I printed it off but have a question about what to put on the invention promo line and the explanation line. I'm a bit slow here. BTW, thanks for such good instructions on how to get there and all the other info. I'm just not too good at wording things and this seems like an important thing to do. I'll go ahead and fill in the rest of it then when I know what else to write, I'll get it in the mail asap.

Thanks for what you're doing.

This is crazy isn't it. They are just trying to do what Monsanto has already done....obtained a patent on seed. Used to be the government thought it was important to keep our food supply gentically diverse. That our food should be in everyones hands. But at some point Monsanto was able to get a patent on seed. If this continues, we won't even be able to collect our own seed from our own vegetables! So, take a stand against Seiger Seed, boycott Monsanto owned seed companies (like Burpee to name just one) and grow heirlooms!

Getting down off my soapbox...

TS, thanks for making this easy for us. It would have taken a lot longer to navigate the site without your directions. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm........think there might be a reason for that?

Letter going in the mail today

God bless -

I can't believe what some people try to do. This sounds ridiculous.

Teresa Sue, how long do we have to do this ? I have no access to a fax machine at the moment.
Hope we can join our forces and make a difference.
