I'm loving the new trend in baby shower gifts-the baby washcloth boquets, prefold diaper cakes, organic clothing...here's some links if you want to make one for someone:

http://www.lovelyandgracious.com/2010/11/diy-onesie-bouquet-for-expectant-mommy.html (That's a more involved one)

http://www.myfavoritefavors.com/washclothlollipops.htm

And a video tutorial:

The lollipops are super easy to make-the base is a baby spoon, but a wooden dowel would work fine (Or a crayon, etc.) I think this will be my new gift to expectant mothers! :)

Megan thank you for the Towel idea. That would be real handy. Since my son will be playing babysitter during the winter months when work is slow. I'll get started on a few of those.

Brenda, also, a great gift is a towel with ties sewn to one end that will tie around your neck so you put it on before putting the baby in the tub, and then when you lift out the baby, the towel is like an apron and already there. :) This is SO handy!!! Also, Brenda, cloth diapering and cloth wipes will save them TONS of money. You can sew the diapers as well if they're low on funds. ;)

What a Cute idea Ginny. My mind is so full of ideas that I want to work on. My son and DIL have a 18 and 15 year olds and now the new baby coming in March. Of course they don't have anything at all. This is going to be fun.

This would only be good for folks from Maine or someone sending it to you from Maine but I was in a gift shop the other day that sells only local items and someone has taken white onsies, tie-dyed them and on the front has the shape of the State of Maine in black with the words "It's all about ME" and the ME is in the State shape. VERY CUTE!
