When I first got this book earlier in the week I flipped through the pages and saw all the beautiful photographs.

Then I started reading.

This book is like a HUGE MaryJane's Farm magazine issue! I'm going to be getting more as Christmas presents! It is beautifully put together, with the famous MaryJane's font...wonderful tips, stories, photos (oh the photos!), and recipes (Pear salsa, melon mint salsa...)!

I can't wait to start making some of these things. Have any of you done anything from the book? I want to make a few of those chairs (Seem pretty simple) the clothespin holder, ALL of the recipes (LOL)...

I think I posted this before on another section, but I found all 3 books on ebay for a REALLY good price.. I paid 12 for two of them and 6 or 7 for the other. I looooooove them all and am constantly flipping through them! :)

I typically take one of the three books with me when I go camping. :) I love them!

Paula-that is pretty cool. I found the Sewing Room and Outpost a while back. I like having the whole collection! We had company this evening so I didn't get to sit and read. Maybe tomorrow.

Kim, You have a real treasure! I love my IdeaBook. I got a used version too, and it somehow seems more special that way. The Sewing Room and Outpost books came as Christmas Presents this year...and now my sister-in-law, who is a Forestry specialist, is asking for information about ordering Outpost copies to give to her girlfriends who work for the Forestry Service as firefighters and environmental specialists...how cool is that?

I just received my copy of the Ideabook and am SO excited to own it! I kept it checked out at the library for a while, but then someone else around requested it so I had to share. Their copy smelled musty though :( Now I have a brand new "used" copy. Ordered it on ebay for 29.00 since I could not afford the book plus shipping.

What I can't figure out is that under the label placed over an inscription inside the front cover, it appears this was given to a gal from three other ladies. It doesn't look like it's ever been opened! Who wouldn't want to sit down and get lost in this book! :)

After using the library to read it my husband got me one for my birthday yesterday. Now I will read everything I couldn't during the short library time. I love it, it gives me inspiration and hope when things get tough. Thanks Mary Jane!

God bless,

Judy

I keep mine next to my bed so I can look through it just to find something else I would like to make or try. Wonderful books my daughter bought me when they first came out. I just love the pictures, ideas and recipes it has to offer. Just finished the chandelier, which qualifies me for another badge. I have all three books but am looking forward to more. What could MaryJane do next? Can't wait to find out.

I recently got my copy too, along with the Outpost and Stitching Room books. I found them all on ebay and including shipping got them for around $15.00 each! What a great deal and I am loving it!! I take turns reading a little bit out of each one :)

I finally got a copy of the Ideabook and just love it. My husband was actually looking over my shoulder reading some of the stories and looking at the photos of Mary Jane's acquaintances while working in the Forest Service. There is an old one room school house foundation in the woods near our home on our property and my husband said, "Hey we can build a wall tent on the old school house foundation!" Another project for another time!! LOL

I'm giving some as Christmas gifts. WELL worth it. It's a HUGE book of inspiration! :) It's a great coffeetable book, too. Such beautiful pictures!

It's $23 on Amazon. It's huge like a text book, and well worth the price of $35.

I think I have the library's copy on constant check out. I wish I could afford my own copy, darn budget! But by the time I pay late fees at the library (which I am notorious for) I probably SHOULD just buy my own copy! lol!

Megan- I agree with everyone else that this book is absolutely wonderful!! With the dishcloth corchet pattern, I entered my first swap in July and now I am hooked on dishcloth swaps!! There are so many great ideas and the photos and stories are inspiring. I looked everywhere for a cheaper copy but alas, only was able to save a few dollars by getting one on ebay. Just keep looking and hopefully one will turn up or maybe put it at the top of a Christmas or birthday list!IT is well worth every penny!!

Megan - I have had my ideabook for 6 years and I still find it a constant source of inspiration. I just pulled it off the shelf to re-read it again and am thinking seriously about plum butter and chicken pot-holders.....
