Posted - May 02 2010 : 07:51:35 AM I made some strawberry jam using ChillOver powder. It works wonderfully and I love being able to use less sugar than other methods require. I noticed that the strawberries are toward the top of the jar. Is there a way to remedy this? This may have already been addressed, but if so, I missed it. Thanks |

Posted - Sep 20 2010 : 8:04:05 PM I've got to try this chillover powder. I've read about it in MJ magazines. So far this year I have only made peach jam. But I put up alot of corn this year. I tried a new corn souffle recipe this year and loved it.

Posted - Jul 30 2010 : 06:28:26 AM The Chillover jam sounds wonderful! Does anyone know if stevia would work in place of the sugar or even part of the sugar? Off to order some Chillover!!!!
Blessed be, soleil

Can you answer a couple of questions about ChillOver powder for me please? Do the recipes come with it? If not, what recipe did you use with ChillOver?
Thanks for your help.

Posted - May 18 2010 : 1:38:51 PM I'm happy to learn about this. I seem to get into a panic thinking I have to hurry up and fill the jars. I've read another recipe in which the jam sits overnight and then can be placed in the jars without heating it up. I wonder if that is okay-it's in a reputable book, but I still wonder. Thank you so much. |

Posted - May 16 2010 : 7:36:40 PM I made strawberry jam today, and I have that same problem (the strawberries rising to the top, and not staying mixed in) I made one batch, was disgusted, so did some research in the 5 different preserving books I have and one of them says to let the jam sit for 10 min. after you take it off the heat and before you put it into your sterilized jars, I tried that with my second batch and it worked beautifully! No strawberries at the top!

Posted - May 04 2010 : 11:15:15 AM Try turning the jars over after the jam has cooled a bit and you are sure the lid has sealed.
