Posted - May 05 2009 : 9:22:03 PMI updated an older blog today (from April 2008) if you want to see my beautiful first sweet lena iris blossom from this morning! However, you'll have to buy your own from MaryJane when they become avail. and grow it yourself inorder to smell its glorious "sweetness"...
Posted - May 09 2009 : 7:47:00 PMLovely pictures of your garden. I lived in CA until 6 years ago. Now I reside in Southwest Idaho. In April, on the Garden Gate forum I posted a picture of a Lena Iris in my garden from last season and a picture of them dried and in an arrangement. Mine have not bloomed yet this year, but I see buds. Can't wait.
Posted - May 06 2009 : 10:30:30 AMAlee, you are a genius! That would definitely be the MJF perfume fragrance to make & sell! Along with one called ? "Biscuits & Butters" ? Both of which I would personally wear daily...
Posted - May 06 2009 : 08:11:53 AMOh the Sweet Lena Irises are so wonderful! They are some of the prettiest irises and the fragrance is amazing! Strong but not overpowering. Almost like honey and flowers blending on a warm summer day. But then again that description doesn't do them justice! I told MaryJane that if she could bottle that fragrance as a perfume they wouldn't be able to keep it on the shelf!
