SEPTEMBER 18 - I'D LIKE TO ADD A COMMON QUESTION AND ANSWER TO THIS POST:

Q: I live on a farm, 30 miles from town and I haven't received my issue. I was in town yesterday and saw the new issue in the bookstore. I am a long time subscriber. Why haven't I receive my copy?

A: The US Postal Service is a business of density and the resulting efficiencies. The denser the population, the better the Postal Service can provide service. In other words, mail travels faster in cities and highly populated neighborhoods than in sparsely populated, rural areas. And a box of 10 copies shipped via UPS to a local store will arrive faster than a single copy of a magazine going through the Postal system.

Any dates or "waiting periods" noted below or in our customer service system or web site are average times. They are not exact and are not always applicable to every location.

Also, many readers have mail delivered to a PO Box. A small PO Box, in a remote Post Office, can fill up fast with magazines and catalogs. I don't know what happens with the overflow of material when a box gets full. If you have a PO Box and you think your issue of MJF is missing, you may want to ask your Postmaster about overflow mail.

Hello all,

Sunny, Tanja, MaryJane, Meg and I have answered a lot of your questions about the re-launched MaryJanesFarm over the past few months and it just occurred to me that it might be useful to post some of the answers to commonly asked questions here on the Farmgirl Connection.

Here are some:

Q: I'm receiving duplicate copies of the magazine. Why?

A: In many cases, this occurs because at one time you ordered MaryJane's food and were added to the original MaryJanesFarm subscription file as a part of that purchase. With that record on our file, you may have recently placed a subscription order through the mail or internet resulting in two different orders.

We can combine the subscriptions into a single one, adding the two terms together.

Q: If I am a PAID subscriber and have already received an issue or two, when should I expect to receive subsequent issues of MaryJanesFarm?

A: MaryJanesFarm is published 6-times a year, every-other month. Cover dates are Feb/Mar, Apr/May, Jun/Jul, Aug/Sep, Oct/Nov and Dec/Jan. Copies should arrive in-home during the second week of each month PRIOR to the cover date. So, as an example, the Oct/Nov issue should arrive by about September 15. With weekends and holidays moving around, I would wait until the 20th of the month before contacting customer service.

If an issue does go astray, go to:

Log in follow prompts as instructed. If you lose your way or the above web page is unable to find your account, email us at:

maryjanesfarmwebcs@palmcoastd.com

Q: If I am a new subscriber to MaryJanesFarm when should I expect to receive my next issue of the magazine?

A: New subscribers should receive their first issue about 4 – 6 weeks after placing their order. Note that with a 6-time a year frequency, we will have 8 or 9 separate mailings of each given issue. The first mailing includes all existing subscribers at that given date while all subsequent mailings are smaller and include new subscribers and recently paid subscribers.

Q: I recently placed a “bill-me” subscription order and have received my first issue. When will I receive my second issue?

A: We are happy to send new subscribers an issue of MaryJanesFarm while you are in a “bill-me” status. If you like what you see, simply pay your invoice and you’ll receive all remaining issues over the next year. If MaryJanesFarm is not for you, simply write cancel on the bill and return it to us. We do not, however, mail more than one issue to unpaid subscribers. So your second issue should arrive about 4 – 6 weeks after we receive your payment.

Q: I saw the new issue of MaryJanesFarm on the newsstand but I’ve yet to receive my copy at home. Should I be concerned?

A: Onsale dates for MaryJanesFarm are about the 15th of the month prior to the cover date. So the Oct/Nov issue goes onsale around September 15th. Note that copies arrive at retailers days, even a week, prior to the onsale date. And many retailers elect to display the new issue as soon as they receive their copies. So while subscribers should receive their copies prior to being offered in retailers’ displays, this is not always the case. Please refer to the earlier questions regarding subscriber issue arrival dates for additional information.

Q: How do I give a gift subscription to MaryJanesFarm?

A: You can order a gift subscription online at:

Hi Jill!

Unfortunately the only people who can answer subscription questions are the publishers. I highly recommend calling them. They have always been super sweet and helpful whenever I have called!

Hi, I wanted to find out when my subscription ran out and can not do so via e-mail anyway I try. I have Aug. Sept. 2008 and that is it. Can anyone help out? Or, I am thinking I should wait until Monday and call the subscription toll #.
Computers can be cold when every good effort gets an answer in red, just like the teacher's grading pen.

Hello all,

I have some good news and some bad news. First the good news - recent response to subscription offers for MaryJanesFarm have been overwhelming. Many thanks for all your support.

The bad news is that we have run out of the Aug/Sep issue. If we received your new order or payment prior to July 30, you will receive the Aug/Sep issue. If we received your new order or payment the following week, prior to August 6, you probably will receive the Aug/Sep issue. Any orders received after August 6 will receive the Oct/Nov issue as their first issue. Oct/Nov begins mailing from our printer around September 1.

The Aug/Sep issue is still available on newsstands. Barnes & Noble, Borders and Tractor Supply are your best bets.
