I want to order some but...which budget mix is better? The white or whole wheat?

I just got my budget mix and I love it! I made the biscuts and added some grated sharp cheddar cheese and after they were baked I brushed the tops with melted butter and garlic powder (mixed)
They tasted just like the biscuts at Red Lobster, only better.

The other day I ordered my third box of budget mix, in the bulk size! I've been experimenting with it in my other recipes, for cookies, muffins, quick breads, etc. Since it has the leavenings and salt already in it, I just omit those from the recipe, and substitute budget mix for the flour amount.

I love it, and am hooked! Play around with it, girls, in some of your other recipes (and definitely get the Farm Kitchen issue of the magazine).

Marie-

I don't think you will be disappointed at all. I would also suggest getting the back issue of the MaryJanesFarm magazine entitled "Farm Kitchen" as it is chock full of wonderful budget mix recipes! I love it. I made the yummiest muffins yesterday. Hubby nearly ate the whole batch- Whole wheat budget mix plus a whole cup of wheat germ!

Ok. That tears it. I'm buying the budget mix in bulk once we've settled in our new home.

I love the pancakes made out of budget mix! Especially the whole wheat budget mix. One of my favorite things about the budget mix is that the whole wheat behaves like white flour without the loss of goodness that happens when you take away parts of the wheat kernel to just have the "white" :D How neat is that?

I received my bakeover pan last Friday and took it with us this weekend....yum! I made a bakeover with sauted peppers and mushrooms leftover pasta, creamy ricotta, great mozzarella and homemade marinara (by my hubby) then topped it with the MJ Garlic Pesto fry-bread mix and made the bakeover...it was sooooo good! The cheese kept everything all together and it unmolded perfect. It was like having your pasta and bread sticks all in one pan :) This is going to be great for leftovers plus all the MJ recipes to try. I love it!

Have any of you made the bake over or pan bread mix from MJ's recipes in her magazine and book? I have used both and it works awesome. I made a salmon and goat cheese pan bread two weeks ago and last week the asparagus and potato bake over. Of course I added some extra veggies that I had hanging from some other meals but it worked wonderful. I can't wait to use the pan bread for a pizza crust.

mmmm. I have been craving biscuits lately so I made a batch with the whole wheat budget mix last night. Yummy! And you really wouldn't know you were cooking with whole wheat. The special way MaryJane mills her wheat makes it act more like white flour, but with all the yummy goodness of whole wheat!

Butter and Honey on hot biscuits!! Yummy!

Sue, get your mouth ready and make sure you have the bakeover ingredients of your choice on hand. You'll be wanting to make your first recipe as soon as you unpack the box!

Yes it is awesome! I used to be the BisQuick Queen in my family; now they call MJ's Budget Mix "Mail Order BisQuick", but it is oh, so much better! Reminds me, I must place an order...
