Janice Holt Giles books are one of my favorites I have a lot of them Also I dont live but one coounty away from her old homeplace, Jessie Sturet books are great also. We do the stripping different now, We used to strip it in hands and put it across a stick now we put it in bales. Its much easier now but I was always so proud of my little hands of tobacco. I made mine the size of a silver dollar they were very neat. I have stripped as much as 30 sticks a day that was a lot for one person. I can sure tell some cold tales about stripping tobacco, I dont do much in it anymore, frankly I dont miss that job at all, much rather be making something Good talking to you Miss Wilma

Miss Wilma,
Funny that you are going to strip tobacco. I was just reading in a JANICE GILES HOLT book and that is what they are doing. Now they described the process pretty good in the book, if I lived near by I could probably help.
So nice to see and hear about all the things you are making.

I have three of Miss Wilma's down pillows and they are my FAVORITES! These are a real luxury and I do not have to worry about toxic flame retardant or weird fibers. My daughter just tore the pillow case to her little 'Farm' pillow and she is beside herself- Miss Wilma, If I give you the size can you make her another (just the little white case with wide cotton lace on the edge)? It was her first pillow and it goes everywhere with her;)

Warmly, Rebekka
