Hi Ladies!

When I was home with my mom we got to talking about food reserves, money fluctuations, and the "super bugs" that are out there making people sick.

It can be a scary scary world out there! Especially when you have this innocent baby in your arms trusting you to keep her safe from harm and illness!

We were talking about how wonderful it feels to can and put up for the winter/hard times. We also talked about how we might not be able to prevent all the horrible things in this world from happening, but how if they do happen, we want to say that we did the best we could.

Doug and I really like to have a food back up supply on hand, but the thing is- we make sure it is food we like to eat, so we are continually eating our "back up" supply and replenishing it. It also ensures that we will know how to prepare and will like the food we have on hand in case of an emergency.

Did you know that MaryJane has some packages all set up for food storage?

I think it's such a great idea to have some "instantly yummy" food like this on hand. MaryJane's food just can't be beat for perparedness. I just feel so much better when I have a bit of food in the pantry, a bit of money in the bank, and, well, a good supply of chocolate hidden in a never-to-be-disclosed location!!!

XOXO, Libbie

Ummmm, let's see. Budget Mix, of course. :) Butter Herb Pasta, Chilimac, corn bread, falafel, garlic pesto fry bread, pinto bean flakes and couch potatoes.
That ought to keep our tummies happy for the winter! I ordered the Do-It-Yourself Bulk on everything but the pasta and the chilimac, just to make sure the family likes it before I get too much. The other things I know they will eat. I cannot wait for my box of yumminess to arrive.

Karin,

What did you order? I mean it is all really yummy, but I love hearing what other people order. :D

What a great idea Kathy! I love that idea! How often do we reach for junk at work because we don't have something quick to eat?

I got MaryJane's potato soup and black bean/corn soup--the bulk sizes, put them in big Tupperware containers and took them to work, so now I'm all ready for winter lunch hours knitting at my desk with a bowl of great soup!!

Stock up!!

Kathy
