This morning I was greeted by a wee lizard in my kitchen sink. Don't know how he got there or how long he has been in my kitchen. He was about an inch and a half long. Such a tiny little thing. I scooped him up in a Styrofoam cup and put him in the backyard. I hope he is okay and has a great life outside where he belongs.

Winnie, our feline pets to have that nasty habit of playing with their prey before they eat them. I guess it's in their nature so we can't hold it against them.

Years ago, my mama cat captured a mole and would knock it silly with her paws; kept it alive until she gave it to her kittens for their supper. It was brutal to watch but all her kittens grew up to be good hunters like their mama. They kept the rat and snake population down on my 1/2 acre.

Poor thing, I bet it somehow squeezed inside and was looking for a warm place to hang out with the deep freeze going on outside.

My kitty used to snag those wee lizards in a flash and then play with them until he ate their head off!! EWWWW!!!

Awe, I'm not a reptile sort of girl... ick! I wonder how they are getting in? Hope you sleep better, Sara, it's awful being awake in the wee hours of the night. xo

The wee lizard or one of his cousins is back. Last night I couldn't sleep so I got up and when I turned the kitchen light on, I saw him scoot across the kitchen counter. I lost him behind all the stuff I have on that end of the counter. He's loose in my kitchen and I hope I find him before Annie does. Annie doesn't play nice with other critters.

Nicole seems like we have been in and out of droughts for the last 20 years. Growing up in Dallas on sandy soil we had scorpions, and I was strung several times. A terrible burning pain; no other pain like it. I've been in Paris for 10 years on red loamy soil and not a scorpion in sight. I think they like sandy soil. Before I came to Paris, I lived 35 years in north central Texas on black land and no scorpions there.

Awww. I would love to have seen the wee lizard! Are y’all in a drought? Better than what we had in Texas once. A scorpion was in our kitchen sink at the ranch in Texas when I was little. My mom went to wash dishes or something, and was stung! It was awful. She said it was the worst pain ever. We don’t have lizards here in CT, but we have skinks, salamanders, and newts. :)

I bet the tiny lizard is happy to be back outside. He must have snuck in to cool off for a bit. My kids would have loved to find a lizard in our sink.

Winnie, I wouldn't mind if he lived in the house to eat bugs, but he wouldn't stand a chance against Annie, the hunter.

Sara, I bet that lizard was grateful for his release as I bet he was wondering where the heck he was! We have lots of small lizards that live around here and they love roaches, mosquitoes and other pests. Any critter that eats those pests is a friend of mine!!!
