Posted - May 24 2022 : 3:07:05 PM I'm so excited to say we have cows! We started with 3 black angus. They plowed through our fence and spent some time roaming the neighborhood. We sold one back to the guy we bought them from. We decided to try a different breed and found the Belted Galloway's are much more calm. Pictured are a Black Angus steer and 3 Belted Galloways. The smallest one is the bull - the brown one. We have an Angus heifer in the barn. I just love how the Belted Galloway's look. They originate from Galloway, Scotland.
Ps. Yes, that's an old outhouse. Not actually being used any more.

Posted - Jul 11 2024 : 3:33:43 PM It is Heather. We walked around the pasture and when we headed in that direction we still didn't see her but the other cows started going in that direction. Spent another 20 minutes looking before we found her.

Posted - Jul 11 2024 : 05:28:19 AM We have another girl. My son named her Friday because she was born on a Friday. We spent almost an hour in 90 degree temps looking for her one day. They are doing a good job of protecting her, found her hiding in some high weeds.

Posted - Apr 28 2023 : 4:01:07 PM Thank you Heather & Denise. She sure was enjoying the sunshine and she is fluffy. She got out this morning and mama & the aunties were not happy. DH & I had a cow audience while we were trying to get her back in!

Posted - Apr 04 2023 : 03:53:35 AM Thank your everyone. We have another calf, born this morning. Her name is Texette. My son noticed one side looks like the state of Texas. He thought about calling her Sandy - Sandy Cheeks from Sponge Bob is from Texas. But decided on a female version of Texas.
