I took this photo last summer and just ran across it again the other day. It was too cute not to share. Both are rescue animals who have been nursed back to health and reward our family with abundant adoration, they just don't like each other.

Kathy,
That "kitten" is 5 years old. We found her as a kitten in the Walmart parking lot on the verge of starvation and she never really got over the physical trauma. She didn't even go into heat for the first time until she was 3 years old (our vet had told us to wait and see if she would go into heat before we messed with her fragile health). Samson, the dog, is believed to be a pure bred Old World German Shepherd. I don't have a better photo of him, because I have trouble getting far away enough to get a good shot...he is mama's boy. As for the cat/dog relationship, Izzy decided to move to the barn about a year ago to avoid the dogs. She still comes up to the house once in a while, but prefers to get her lovings at milking time.

What a precious kitten! Is that a part shepherd dog? My german shepherd hates my cats too :)
