We took the next batch out of the hatcher today. There is the smallest Mille Fleur chick we have ever seen. I posted some pictures of the cutie on my blog. I just love hatching chicks.

I keep telling my daughter it's like having a two year old that never grows up and she should have known it before she bought Lily. It's a control issue and long term it's the bird who loses. I'd take him in a minute, but my husband doesn't like birds. My daughter isn't a kid, she's 44, but thinks she has to control everyone and everything. No wonder she's not married!!!
Max is beautiful, both of them are!!

We have had Max for two and a half years and she hasn't changed. When either my husband or I are on the phone she screams for attention or when it is about 8 at night. I know she is ready to go to bed. We have a sleep cage for her in complete darkness. She is very sensitive to getting the right amount of sleep. She gets cranky if she doesn't. I still love her even though she isn't the best behaved bird I have owned.
I wanted to take the tiniest chick to work with me. He is just sooooooo cute. I just couldn't figure out how I would keep him warm enough, and I dunno how my boss would like the chirping. But then again maybe it would be enough to get me fired and I could stay home and play all day.(I can only dream)

Ahhh, so cute. I love baby chicks. Know my dogs would kill them, though. The rat terrier had a cottontail rabbit in her mouth the other day nearly as big as her. Got her to drop it and come in, but the shock was too much for it. And the Lab will snag a quail every chance she gets. Can't blame them for doing what comes natural, though I hate to see them kill something.
Do you suppose Max will quiet down when she realizes she's getting enough attention? My daughter's cockatoo was quiet when she got him, but she doesn't give him enough and he squaks now. His name is Lily, funny when they get sexed and have a name fitting the opposite sex.
Enjoyed your blog and all the neat photos.

How sweet. I want it.

I can just see him now, riding around in my shirt pocket! Such pretty markings on that little downy head....

I want him.

Just think of all of the roads there are...all of the things I haven't seen....yet.
