Can you all help me??
I am having issues with my cat. She likes to be an inside/outside cat. I don't like this but if I don't let her outside she pees on someone's bed-often mine, often while I'm sleeping in it! Normally it is fine as long as I let her outside but a couple days ago she wanted to go out when I was getting ready for bed and I don't like for her to be out all night. Well she let me know just how she felt about that, so I was changing sheets in the middle of the night, trying to get cat pee smell out of my mattress and woke up the baby so he was upset.
So the problem isn't so much the peeing (although I'd love for that to stop completely) because as long as I let her out she doesn't do it. The problem is in a few months we will be moving. Moving means staying in a hotel for several nights, possibly even a month or more (and a hotel here and a hotel there at a minimum). I can't let her out of the hotels for many reasons but I can't have her peeing on the beds either. What can I do????
I've tried rescue remedy and the pheromone plug ins to try to get her to stop and it didn't work. When we moved over here we used the pheromone collar and rescue remedy and she did fine but that was before her insistence on going outside.
Any ideas??

Hi Sabrina, sorry to hear you're having cat issues. There are a couple of things I've had success with in the past. After seeing the Vet to rule out any medical reasons, one of the simplest things is to put his food in the trouble spot. Cats won't pee near where they eat, most of the time. Of course, it will be a little challenging feeding him on your bed! But a little food mess is better than stinky cat pee pee. You could use this trick in the hotel, too. Take along an old sheet or towel to put under the food. Sometimes switching up the litter so the texture is more like where he likes to go outside helps, too. Also, you could try leash training so you could take him out during your hotel stays. I've never had any luck with leashes and cats, but supposedly it can be done. Anyway, I hope maybe some of this will help. Good luck with everything!
