I was wondering how Miss Mona is doing? Patsy is home now and getting large already. She is due July 1st. So we still have a long way to go. The steer we bought is home too but we are waiting to bring Loretta (her nick name is Etta) home until next week. She is doing great with her halter training. She is so calm. Hubby was petting her the first day she came in the barn from the field. We can touch her all over and she doesn't even move. She is so much different than Patsy was to train. I'll post some pics once she comes home. It is so great to have them in the field again.

Hi Aunt Jenny,
I had to laugh when I thought of Miss Mona getting her hooves cut. Miss Candi at 10 lbs. is a hand full I can just image Miss Mona. LOL
Hugs,

I was thinking of Mona and Patsy while I was away and was going to ask after these lovely ladies when I returned. Glad to hear all is going well.
Best wishes,
Jayne

Funny, I was wondering about Mona this morning. Glad I searched through the forum first and found this thread! Cannot wait to see new pics of Mona.

Mona is doing just great. I am due to take new pictures of her..she was romping in the snow last night..which is so silly with her big old body!! She is starting to show her pregnancy quite a bit..not due until May 25 though. She has her winter coat now ..so she is all dark again..funny how she was so light and reddish in summer!! She is still giving about 3 gallons of milk a day on once a day milking now and I will keep milking until March. I will sure miss the milk when she is dry!! I do need to get her hooves trimmed though!!
Etta sounds great! How nice that she is so calm and easy to work with. That made it so easier for me that Mona was that way...I know that alot of cows arn't. I feel like I got so lucky that my first cow is perfect..heehee
