I guess bees can get cranky from the heat, just like us! They are so fascinating.

yes even the hive gets hot. They keep the queen at a constant temp winter or summer. They were all back in this morning. I checked on them just to see how they were doing in their top box. Got stung on the leg, so someone got up on the wrong side of the comb this morning.

Even bees get hot?? Who would guess that but I imagine the hive can really heat up being in the direct sun in the summer swelter of August.
